Do most of the people who want PS2 actually know about it?

     I\'m not trying to bash PS2 or anything, but a lot of people at my school who want a PS2 don\'t know jack about it. It might only be my school, but when I ask them why they want PS2 they say,"Cuz it plays DVD\'s." Then I say,"It is only an average DVD player; not really good, but not really bad." After I say that, they have no other reasons to want it. Does this happen to you at your school, home, and/or job?

Many people seem to want PS2 because its considered the "cool" thing out right now. There are many times when teenagers and even adults are pressured to buy or do something because its popular.

u people dat talk about people sayin dis stuff r da same people u think da dc is better. i am not at all surprised dat u guys r sayin dis. at my skool, evry1 wants da ps2, and da people who got DC either want it, or cant get it. they know a lot about it, and well there r those few who dont. but i rarely find a dc fan at my skool.

Actually, my friend has a ps2, and I\'ve played it for many hours. I like ps2, but its not something I want to have right now because the games don\'t really impress me that much. And, I don\'t even have a dreamcast(don\'t know where you got that idea). Oh, and thanks a lot for telling me about your school; I\'m sure its very advanced. :rolleyes:

I was just giving an explanation as to why people would want to buy a ps2 when they know nothing about it. Next time, try not to insult people when you know nothing about them.

People are buying it because of the original PS and because its the "cool" thing. I\'m about postive your school friends don\'t sit down and give you a huge lecture on the technological advancements or first party developers for the PS2. Instead, I would imagine your friends are complete dolts (idiots--clarify that, for you) like you. "Der..Duh..Dats k3wl!".

ah ha ha ha! dats really funny (jackass). in case ur dumb ass duznt know, i attend 1 of da best high skools in da chicagoland area. dats Lane Technical High School. im tellin u other people, if im dissed about my typin, u know da person who insulted me is a DC fan. theyre pissed i proved a point, and now theyre out 4 mor. oh yea, dat skool i go 2, they hav da highest GP (grade point) level in tests and all dat ****. and chicago aint a dumb city. im not tryin 2 change da subject, im replyin 2 sumthin senseless u wrote and decided i shud talk back. fag.

Am I the only one here that doesn\'t believe that?  Oh well even if you do go there you aren\'t representing your school very well at all. Okay so how long have you been going to this school?

Well at my school we don\'t get per presure to get a console, not one costing 300 pounds.
I have DC and PS2 and love them both, although PS2 hasn\'t much to offer apart from SSX, TS and TTT, it has potential and power, you have to own one or use for a bit to see for yourself. Most people also know what there getting one for,
PS1, PS2, DVD, CD, and eventually Internet, amazing games starting next year to many to list and even minidisc recording. I love Shenmue and MSR, but all people who only like DC and keep putting PS2 down should sod off both consoles are brilliant.
At present PS2 has the power and DC has the games, AT THE MOMENT
