Is it true the PS2 is so powerful that...

It can launch guided missles?  I\'ve heard(and read), from many people(and magazines), that the PS2 can launch guided missles.  Is this true, or is Sony making it seem more powerful than it really is?

Thanks Soulgrind, I really owe you.

I think it can. I heard that two. The emotion engine is considered a weapon/super computer like the G4 chip in a Macintosh.

About a year and a half ago there was a whole ordeal that it couldn\'t be imported into China or something because the chip is powerful enough to do that or something like that..  My memory doesn\'t last that long.  This is an old trade thing concerning the trading of high tech equipment.  Aparently you can\'t trade electronic devices that can process so many equations so fast or something.  It\'s pretty out dated at this point.  Someone else can shed some light on this with actual facts.  I gotta go watch the Bucs kick some more Ram Arse....

I don\'t think its a real big deal - I\'m not sure, but I think it was more of a publicity and hype stunt put on by Sony. but... i could be wrong.

This is NOT true. There were some problems with importing the PS2 because it can perform so many billions of instructions per second. The same thing happen will happen with GCN and X-Box. The PS2 is not launching any missles any time soon. But if someone figures out how, I suggest aiming for 989 Studios.

BTW, Who is this TheOneBillyGunn? I have never heard of you nor seen one of your posts yet you have over 1000. This is odd.

Yes the PS2 can launch missles, and so can my Pentium 166.  While launching missles may sound exciting and it may sound like something that requires extensive power, it\'s not.
