Title: Anyone get Dark Cloud yet? (plus impressions soon)
Post by: Jigen on May 30, 2001, 09:57:44 AM
So, has anyone gotten it yet, and how is it so far... I know it\'s hard to tell because the real test of DC is if it will get too repetitious.

At first I wasn\'t too excited about this game, but after I heard about the improvements for the US version, and skills and such, it sounds like it could be neat... plus I hear that the graphics and sound are very good from people who played the import.  Control has supposedly even been improved...  I might not like it if it\'s too much like TimeStalkers for Dreamcast or that other early Dreamcast RPG...

Anyways... I\'ll be picking it up in an hour or two hopefully and will have up some short impressions and then longer impressions on how boring I think the game might get.

Feel free to post your own impressions of the US version here.

Haha... Yeah we posted about 5min from eachother:)

Anyway, PSM had a big hang-up on repititious. I won\'t go on a long rant here, but when the object of the game is to explore massive levels of dungeons to retrieve pieces of your world.....DUH!! It may get repititious somewhat.

That said though, there are definite countermeasures.

Minigames.
6 playable characters (with unique abilities to use for puzzles)
Sequencing battles.

And other things I\'m sure. Well, once I get mine I\'ll know.

I just think it was lame of them to bring their score to a 6 (of 10) because of "repitition". Virtually all games, especially arcade and FPS types are so-called repititious, but what do I know...grrrrr...
