Two months before the game\'s official unveiling, sources reveal some juicy details.

Namco is all set to fully unveil Xenosaga, the upcoming sequel to Xenogears, at a show in Japan this July. Before that, we can provide some details on the game thanks to a source in Japan.
The game\'s full name is Xenosaga: Episode 1 - Chikara e no Ishi (Will to Power). Producer Tetsuya Takahashi comments that Xenogears didn\'t really turn out exactly as was intended (never mind the fact that it was a brilliant game!). As a result, in designing Xenosaga, the team is not necessarily aiming for a sequel or a remake to Xenogears. In fact, whereas Xenogears started off in a fantasy-style world, Xenosaga will be more science-fiction based with an epic story that takes place in space.

The game stars as its main character a girl called Shion Uzuki, who apparently has no relation to Dr. Citan Uzuki of the original. Shion will adventure through a fully 3D world, although it seems that you won\'t have camera control, instead relying on the view of choice provided by the developers. Intermission sequences will feature realtime CG, rather than pre-rendered.

Little is known on the battle system at this time. We do know that battles will not be random (yahoo!!!!!). Instead, you\'ll see enemies upon a field before you encounter them. Enemies will seek you out, though, so you\'ll still have to stay on your toes.

Xenosaga is currently 30% complete with the development staff hoping for a Japanese release by December. Expect further details in early July.

hmm, never played the original (lousy Square, think their too good for Australia) but heard it was half decent, if its released herre, ill check it out

Aww hell yeah, this game should be awesome then. Well i never played Xenogears:(

dang whats the deal some of you people have never played one of the best RPGs - storywise at least

i can\'t wait for this seqeul - i can only hope they will do this one like the last one
