Can I use these with PS2??
Do they have an optical input???
(https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.watch.impress.co.jp%2Fmobile%2Fcolumn%2Fps2%2F2000%2F03%2F17%2Fcreatvs.jpg&hash=1f684c94a53b5d7dbec811b00b97283413ed63bc)
Creative Cambridge " DeskTop Theater PlayWorks 2500 "
Or should I get the l8tor version 3500??

Well, if the system that you are showing has an optical input on the back, you need a cord (aprox. $50.00). Becasue the PS2 has an opptical output thing. So, I guess as long as it has an optical input and that you have the cord, it\'ll work.

Thanks, but I dont know if it has an optical input.. (Im sure the l8tor version has it)
I cant find any information about it :(
does anybody know??
Btw do you think they are worth the money?
-
On the back of the PS2 it has a thing on there that says Digital out (optical).
Look on the back of the System and see if it says anything about digital, or optical.
Report Back.

How are you buying this? Can you not just ask who you are buying it from if it has an optical input?

I just did and it said DTT 2500 supports PS2..
Now I just found out that the onlinestore dont have them anymore...
:(
So I gotta find a store in town that sells them..
Thanks for the help!

Any stereo system can support PS2.. That doesn\'t mean poop. You need to know if it has Optical digital inputs or not. If they can\'t answer that question then why would you buy from them. And if they don\'t return emails when you want to make a purchase, God forbid trying to contact them if something is wrong with the system.
I would suggest finding something you like in the stores and then searching the net for a better deal if you want to go that route.

Thanks Videoholic...
Im gonna buy them from my local store instead.. (maybe these or the l8tor version 3500.)
Thanks again.

I hope you can find what you are looking for.
I helped as much as I can.

This is odd.
The description for the DTT2500, which is the system pictured in the first post, says it supports PS2, but under "More Information" it only says it has a coaxial input. Of course, since they say in the description that it supports PS2 they may assume you know it has an optical and so they just don\'t put it in the "More Information" section.
The DTT3500 system (notice, 3500, not 2500) does have an optical input specifically mentioned in the description. So that one certainly does support the PS2.
Bah, just save up $200 more and get the Kenwood HTB-503 at Circuit City (or online from somewhere), it\'s a really good "Home Theater in a Box" system with every connection you\'ll ever need on the receiver and it certainly will sound better then those little multimedia speakers. Not to say the speakers in the Kenwood are the greatest, the center is far from the best thing on the planet, but the worst of those speakers will be better than all of the speakers in the cambridge system. In fact, the subwoofer in the Kenwood system is a bargain at the price for the whole system.

Yeah, that goes along with what I was saying before. Every system is PS2 compatible. You can always use the analog audio outputs. Just a little misrepresentation.
-
Personally I use the Sony Dav-s300 and its not bad either.. good mid ranged system.

But if you use the analog outputs you wont get 5.1 surround sound. You need to use the optical output to get 5.1 surround

Köp inte dom!! Du får inte äkta 5.1 Dolby digital ljud!!
Köp DTT-3500! Jag köpte DTT 3500 för 3995:-. Den har äkta 5.1 ljud. Den är grym. Jag har den stående bredvid min PS2. Köp den här!!!

Jag funderar på att skaffa 3500 istället! (jag hittar inte 2500 i någon affär, bara 2200)
Gäller bara att skaffa fram lite extra pengar ;)

you should ahev read what he posted before this post, he already knows that, he is just saying that even if it says PS2 compatable, it doesn tmean the optical input way, they could mean the analog way, just a mis representation

Yeah, I know that. That is why I said it is misleading to say it is PS2 compatible when any stereo is compatible. Just may not be 5.1...

The best route would be to buy a digital receiver/amp with a built-in Dolby or DTS (preferably both) decoder.
