Here is an article from OPM, May, 2001 issue.
The convoy of Acclaim games headed to the PS2 hits its stride within months of Crazy Taxi\'s release when 18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker joins the systems line up. A pseudosequel to Crazy Taxi, this one seats you several feet above the ground, with 60 feet and 20 tons of cargo behind you. It\'s a little more racing -intensive, though , as you travel from NY to Cali., busting your butt to drop loads off in time. The home version features a split-screen two-player mode in addition to the standard Arcade Mode and Six minigames.
Sounds like a good game.
But will it be worth the buy.?.

"busting your butt to drop loads"
LOL, nice bit of wording there. Don\'t these guys know what editors are? Yeah, it\'s out of context, but I wonder if anyone in the office even noticed this little slip.
Anywho, I think it\'ll be a good game. From the movies I saw on Gamespot, it looks like a helluva lot of fun. S\'pecially since you actually get points for running down pedestrians and oncomming traffic. SWEET!

Excuse me if I\'m wrong, but I haven\'t slept.
But, I got to try this game for the DC quite awhile back (Japan release) and I was not impressed.

18 wheeler american pro trucker is fun for like 15 minutes, after that it get\'s boring just like crazy taxi, these games belong in the arcades and not home at a console I think!!

You dont think Crazy Taxi was all that fun?. Are you talking about the PS2 Ver.? The PS2 Version kicks ass.

solid snake:
the ps2 version of crazy taxi is indentical to the DC version and yes I think it get\'s boring after 15 minutes, but that is my humble opinion. I am glad you like it so much, hehe maybe the game isn\'t cut out for me!!

I dont have a DC, but when you said that they are the exact identical, there is something that isnt exactly the same, like the crazy box, or the arcade mode. I got tired of the game though, in about 5 days of game play. Its not exactly the greatist game. :alien:

I have the import version of 18 wheeler for my DC and it\'s exactly like the arcade version..........and that\'s the problem. It was meant to be an arcade game that you put a few quarters in and play for a few minutes. The home version offers nothing new other than a split screen truck racing game which isn\'t anything special. I beat the game within 2 hours of playing it for the first time. It is very fun for those 2 hours but after that there is no reason to play it again. It\'s great for a rental, but terrible for a purchase. At least Crazy Taxi allows you to roam freely around the city and choose who you pick up which makes it fun to play again and again every now and then. Each level in 18 wheeler(all 4 or 5 of them) has you going from point A to point B in about 3 minutes and then your done. Don\'t spend $50 on it. Instead just go to the arcade and spend $5. I promise you\'ll get all you care to get out of it by the time you\'ve spent that $5.

I HATE Time Limits.
Crazy Taxi, has time limits, but they are for 10, 5, 2 minutes I think. Why dont they make an option where you can have a free ride. Just go around, w/no timelimit. That would be cool. I think more poeple would buy it if that were the case.

Yeah, well bite me. I haven\'t been to an arcade in about 8 years.. so I\'m a little out of the loop. It still looks like a kick ass game, even if only for 15 minuites. I\'ll at least rent this one before buying it just to make sure it\'s worth blowing the cash on.
