A few minutes ago i posted then i posted again in a dif thread and it said that moderators will not allow more than one post every 60 sec.
What does that accomplish? less spaming? i dunno. just because your reply only takes 30 seconds to type dont mean it will be a spam.
-
Usually a thoughtful reply takes more than 60 seconds to think up, and more than 30 seconds to write.
I VERY seldomly punch up to that limit, and it doesn\'t annoy me.
If you bump up to that limit too often, you should definetely explore yourself. Can you truly think up and write a readable post in 60 seconds?
-
ya i see your point , it was from a thread i posted then i pressed back and answered someones question quikly but still why have this? if the posts have meaning and arents spamming u shouldnt have to wait 60 seconds to reply.
-
do remember that there is no computerised way to check if the post has meaning or not, or whether or not it is spam, and quite often there aren\'t mods on to check. It\'s just a floodgate, if you can post every 2 seconds, then all it takes is for ONE person to be stupid, come on the boards and just ruin it in one day. If noone is online to do anything about it, s/he can just run wild posting every second.
So it\'s not JUST to protect spam from the worthy members, it\'s also to stop spam coming in from people intending to ruin the forums
-
just kick them off if that happens.
-
yes, well the idea is they get banned for it, but like i said, someone could come on at an hour of the day when there are no mods or admins online, and that\'s when they start causing havoc, and it\'s a lot of work to delete multiple threads, go searching through threads to find posts to delete, and just generally clean up as well as banning them. The floodgate is only a small measure, but to an extent it would work. They will get kicked off, but it\'s not much good if there\'s noone to kick them off online, if you get what I mean
