This will surely help in Raw Is War:

While settings and saved-gave management were a baseline for what the Dashboard had to accomplish, these guys got to have some real fun in exploiting the more advanced capabilities that Xbox has to offer.  For example, the Xbox Hard Disk offers games the ability to do some amazingly cool things.  A couple weeks ago I mentioned that many Xbox games will use custom soundtracks that players can create and then listen to in the games they play.  The Xbox Dashboard helps make this possible by giving gamers a place to create these soundtracks from their own CDs.  You\'ll be able to bring the tracks that you want to hear to Xbox, organize them in a soundtrack, and then tell games which soundtrack you want to hear while you play.  Below we see a custom soundtrack being played back in the Xbox Dashboard itself...

Create-Your Own Soundtrack, how tight is that.

WOW!

That is REALLY nice looking. It looks kind of organic in away. I want to see some transitions. Do they have any vids?

IMHO, BEST LOOKING. CONSOLE GUI. EVER.

In the first image, that green globe on the left looks like one of the "Alien" eggs splitting open.  Maybe there\'s a facehugger inside.

Looks pretty cool, but it would be nice if you could switch the interface around so that it uses a different color when you get sick of green.

Did you know that color green is the favorite color for those under the age of 25 and the most hated color for those over 45? An interesting bit of information.

Looks cool as hell.

So the X-Box has this black and green organic look.
The PS.2 has black, blue and white crystal look.(Don\'t know how else to describe it.)
I wonder how the GC will look.

That looks pretty cool. I am glad to see they are utilizing the hard drive to make your own soundtrack, I was wondering tif they were going to do it.

I bet GC\'s startup screen will be purple and baby blue. Something only litte gay kids and girls will like :)

Yup. Like the "manly" white and orange swirl of the Dreamcast. :)

actually, don\'t you mean "Cloudy backround with big puffy looking icons!"

ehh, it can go either way. Although, purple and b. blue, are definetly worse!

Heh, yeah. I hate the DC\'s GUI, though I actually like the logo. The GC\'s startup is nice,... imo.

After some work, and zooming in, I got the actual number of blocks on the HD: 322,421. Now, this number isn\'t significant without a basis for comparison to how much a save file will take up.

According to the original picture, the size of the DolphinClassic Swimming Frenzy save file takes up a measly 4 blocks.

What does this tell us? Well, let\'s say that the maximum size of a save file would be 10 blocks. If so, it means you\'ll be able to store 32,242 files that large. Not too bad....

This is all speculation right now, as the schot was take off a dev kit, and the size/storage capacity may change. But it\'s nice to know how much room the HD will give you in terms of saving games.

I think that the HD is partitioned like this:

Data Cache: 6GB
Music: 3GB
Save Files: 1GB

In other words, you get over 300,000 blocks in 1 Gig...i think.

All from the XBox IGN boards, thanks to DT Spike.

It looks cool. i hope the PS2 harddisk screen will be great, too, but I think it will be.  The only reason for me to buy an XBOX is Munch\'s Oddysey but I think there will be other great games in the future.

PS:But PS2 has the better games :)
