Check this out, http://www.otakunozoku.com/ps2/index.html
How does that work?...and what is that funny looking board on the right of the PS2 (Our left)?...is it the PS2 developing tool kit?
-
yeah thats the tool kit, it just seems like this guy is trying to emulate stuff on the ps2. well 300 fps, thats crazy. is that even possible?
-
yes its possible, yet the TV can only display 60
-
Wow, this is incredible news, to say the least!
I just asked about this very possibility in a previous thread not too long ago.
As for N64 games...well, hot-damn!! If the PS2 can do for N64 games what DC does for PSX games...Bring it ON!!
Errrm...Even though N64 runs on cartridge format...
-
And PAL displays without 60Hz option can display 50fps.

Aw... damnit! Look at those jaggies on Space Invaders. The PS2 totally ruined one of the greatest games of all time! j/k
Anyhow.. this is what I\'m looking forward to. My Emulation and AbWare folders are eatting my HD alive, and it\'d be cool to finally have one place to go to get ALL my gaming needs. (I just hope someone comes out with a WINE type emulator for the PS2 so I can play older Dos & Windows based games.) That 40gig PS2 HDD should be able to do just the trick!
Also, the PS2 most likely will NOT be able to emulate the DC for the same reason why the Xbox won\'t be able to emulate the PS2. Totally different archetecures, and too close of a generation gap. Example: the DC\'s games are programed with it\'s 8mb of Vram in mind. The PS2 only has 4, but is meant to stream textures. Since DC games were\'t written to stream in the textures.. it\'ll damned hard to try and fit the DC game\'s textures into the PS2\'s Vram.
(BTW: I doubt the PS2 will be able to do for N64 what the DC did for the PSX because the PS2 dosen\'t really have any hardware effects. It\'s all software. Now if someone could program these effects into an emulator and still manage to make it stable......)

How would all this work?...would you just simply download the M.A.M.E and the games from the net and start it like you normally would?
