Probably one of the most exciting times in video game history will be coming this November, when two high-profile video game console will be launched within three days of one another. The Gamecube and XBox will be vying for advertisement space, and with every ad for the opposite company, people will always be thinking of the two consoles. This will certainly be a great time for retailers in particular. What I have presented here, is a list of games that should be ready for each console\'s launch. Please note that each list is far from complete and additions (and subtractions) will most likely be made from each as the companies try to balance out their genres in mid-August. There are still plenty of titles to be confirmed, but let\'s see how they stack up so far.
Microsoft XBox
Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding (Racing)
Azurik: Rise of Perathia (Action)
Dead or Alive 3 (Fighting)
Halo (Action)
Mad Dash (Racing)
New Legends (Action)
NFL Fever 2002 (Sports)
Nightcaster (Action/RPG)
Oddworld: Munch\'s Oddysee (Adventure)
Nintendo Gamecube
Eternal Darkness (Action)
Luigi\'s Mansion (Other)
Madden 2002 (Sports)
NBA Courtside 2002 (Sports)
Pikmin (Strategy)
StarFox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet (Adventure)
Star Wars: Rogue Leader (Simulation)
Super Smash Bros. Melee (Fighting)
Waverace: Blue Storm (Racing)
Note that I\'ll update this list as the Tokyo Game Show and SpaceWorld 2001 events pass. Now, here\'s how each system stacks up genre-wise for launch:
Microsoft XBox
Action (3) - Action/RPG - Adventure - Fighting - Racing - Sports
Nintendo Gamecube
Action - Adventure - Racing - Fighting - Sports (2) - Strategy - Simulation - Other

Here\'s Nintendojo\'s GCN release list. Some of it sounds off to me, i.e. Hitz and Bltz being released together, but they\'re a respectable site, so...
All-Star Baseball 2002 (Sports) Acclaim 2001 11.05
Batman: Dark Tomorrow (Action) Kemco 2001 11.05
Crazy Taxi (Racing) Acclaim 2001 11.05
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 (Sports) Acclaim 2001 11.05
Eternal Darkness (Adventure) Nintendo 2001 11.05
Luigi\'s Mansion (Platform) Nintendo 2001 11.05
NBA Courtside 2002 (Sports) Nintendo 2001 11.05
NFL Blitz 2002 (Sports) Midway 2001 11.05
NFL Quarterback Club 2002 (Sports) Acclaim 2001 11.05
NHL Hitz 2002 (Sports) Midway 2001 11.05
Star Fox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet (Adventure) Nintendo 2001 11.05
Star Wars: Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II (Action) LucasArts 2001 11.05
Super Smash Bros. Melee (Fighting) Nintendo 2001 11.05
Universal Studios (Other) Kemco 2001 11.05
Wave Race: Blue Storm (Racing) Nintendo 2001 11.05
XG3 Extreme Racing (Racing) Acclaim 2001 11.05
If that list holds up, and let\'s face it, it\'s going to change countless times by November, then it\'s going to make choosing titles a lot harder...

I can help out with the Xbox side of things but I need to confirm them first (their are a gazzilion titles coming out in November so I am not sure which are launch and which are 1 week later). This much I know off-hand;
Amped is in no way a racing game. Sports/Sim
Silent Hill X
Yager
Edit: Or did you just want all Nov. titles?

Well you kind of miss some titles and confused your list so I updated with the real list of games we should see at xbox launch.

Dead or Alive 3
Halo
Gunvalkryie
WWF Raw is War

Madden 2002
Nba Inside Drive2002

Eiksirf I doubt nintendo would flood gamecube bye allowing so many games to be released at launched. I suspect your getting too excited and started making up your own dates. Because I see know statement saying that nintendo would flood it\'s system with so many games thats over 25 with the ones stated before.

First off, those dates came from Nintendojo, not from my head.
Secondly, count again, because its only 16 titles at launch if this list is accurate.
On the other hand, while I disagree with your line of thinking ("Nintendo won\'t allow it"), I think that the Dojo list might be a bit off, as well.
I don\'t see why Midway would release Hitz and Blitz at the same time, as I stated before. Also, the Dojo list doesn\'t have Pikmin, which is accurate, but it is the first launch list I\'ve seen without Madden, so I don\'t know what to make of that...
To go back to the idea that "Nintendo won\'t allow it," this isn\'t the NES, communist-game-company here. Nintendo is welcoming third parties. They designed the system from the ground up to attract third parties. Despite success and the attitude that alone with the second parties, they have a winning system (The boasts have a lot to do with trying to make their exclusive 1st and 2nd party titles seem more appealing.), they\'re not stupid. Don\'t think for a second that they didn\'t see how many PlayStation\'s sold on third party games alone.

Star Wars: Rogue Leader (Simulation)
Super Smash Bros. Melee (Fighting)
Waverace: Blue Storm (Racing)
Super Monkey Ball (Arcade)
Madden NFL 2002 (Sports)

The problem is that the release dates only say November, and not launch. For example, I know that Malice is NOT being released as a launch title, but it will be available later that month. We\'ll have to wait until Microsoft makes an announcement I guess.
