Title: Blood Omen 2 Xbox bound?
Post by: EThugg on June 09, 2001, 08:19:16 PM
Not sure if this has been posted, but here it is:

In the latest edition of NextGen, the magazine interviewed Crystal Dynamics, the makers of the upcoming Xbox foot racer, Mad Dash. We don\'t want to spoil the interview, so were only going to post an exerpt, buy the magazine for the rest of this cool interview (thanks Gamer4Life):
"XBOX is one sweet machine. We\'re developing on PC, but when we put it on XBOX, it looks better. I\'ve never seen that before. On PS2, things look good, but they don\'t look better. We had Blood Omen running just fairly well on PS2, and Microsoft was interested in seeing it. In two days we had it up and running on XBOX. It\'s amazing.

On PS2, Blood Omen was running fairly slow, and on XBOX it was running at 70fps. Some of the guys working on PS2 asked if they can have XBOX dev kits to develop with, because they\'re more powerful than any of the PCs we can get"

While I hope BO2 is going to be on XB with the standard graphic upgrade, if it\'s not, this is still more confirmation of XB\'s power.

ehh...not necessarily, it just means its much easier to develope for, or to port things over too from the PC, which is pretty obvious why

Errrr, they compared it to the PS2 version too. And it\'s (according to them) looking better. Read the whole thing...

 What are you going on about Animal?  I guess you don\'t like the fact that developers are actually saying something positive about XB... too bad for you...

BTW, Next-Gen is one of the best game mags.

doesa that necessarily mean its more powerful?  no, it means its much easier to access its power than it is to access to PS2\'s.  Everyone knows iut takes a lot more effort to get the PS2 to function to top form.  Hence why i said

Yes, but I only care about results. If CD is porting BO2, and it looks/runs better on XB, I could care less if PS2 has hidden potential to run just as well, I\'ll still get the best version. But I do see what you were saying.

Why is so for ppl to believe xbox is more powerful than ps2. Xbox was developed after ps2 it is supose to be more powerful. The fact that developers Like team Ninja and others are saying it should be good enough. Ps2 was developed before xbox of course xbox would be more powerful.

What are you talking about? This is a simple matter of Next Gen reporting what developers said. By you theory, we should not be excited at all by any magazines or rumors. I mean, its just "text (words)".  So, I\'m not quite sure what you\'re talking about.

I don\'t think it has been an arguement that the XBox was more powerful. So, this doesn\'t surprise me, that it can run faster then the PS2 version..

Pure self-denial here. Ethugg I totally agree with you here. People like it or not XBOX is alot more powerful than PS2, deal with it.

Blood Omen 2 has already been comfirmed by Crystal Dynamics.  It will be released on the Xbox in March 2002.
