Yuck! The PS2 is being littered with crappy games. The games that no one has interest in out number the "quality" games 10:1, or possibly even higher. I can\'t believe that some of these developers think that their games will be successful...
Anyways, how can I not be interested in PS2?
-The price is way too much for me.
-Only four games interest me(Devil May Cry, MGS2, FFX, and Jak and Dexter). I\'m not going to get a system that won\'t have any games that I\'ll enjoy.
-None of my friends own/will own one. They\'re all Nintendo fans and I like being able to play my systems with my friends and at my friends house\'s.
Not everyone can be interested in the same things you know.

That`s an impressive list. I will have to chose carefully where my money goes.
Jumpman, of course there are crappy games among those titles(Paris-Dakar), but there a still tons of great games left.

I\'m 14, 15 in less than I month. Just because I\'m young it doesn\'t necessarily mean I can\'t enjoy a type of game. I\'ve been playing RPGs since I learned to read for god sakes...

Why list EVERY game that is going to be released for the PS2 this year as a reason for getting one? We all know that the PS2 has some serious AAA killer apps coming soon but those games make up less than 5 percent of that list. Quantity does not mean quality.

To many games for me to decide which ones to get does this sound good: mgs2(gotta have this one) tekken 4, soul calibur 2, ff10, madden 2002 thats all i could probally put money on getting. And jumpman , plz shut up, no plz leave if your gonna gripe about ps2 go to a nintendo forum. This is a ps2 site where ppl talk about how much they like ps2 and its games. Oh yea on the list i left off twisted metal black

I don`t even know 1/3 of the games that are listed there.The fact that they are not hyped (yet),makes them not crappy games automatically.
There could be some surprises coming.

I\'m sorry jumpman but that ps2 line up destory everything I\'ve seen from and nintendo and microsoft combined. I was very unimpressive with gamecube line up so far. That another thing about nintendo fans I wonder what they do now gamecube isn\'t going to be out til awhile and n64 well that thing hasn\'t came out with a new game in months. So I guess they just look at n64 collect dust til gamecube is realsed.

yea personally i am one of those fans - i prefer not to limit my gaming experience by choosing one system although i prefer PS2 i will look foward to Gamesube and Microsoft as well
although there were days when i was a crazy Nintendo Fanboy and refused all systems besides iit - but those days are many years past

the people who come and post here every weekend are usually the people who are pro sony. but there are also many people who dont like the ps2.
that is what makes this forum so great. it is a good place where you can usually see through the rumours and crap. and you can debate topics fairly.

Splashdown will be a great game. Rainbow studious is well known for there physics engines, I have little doubts about how Splashdown will turn out
I also have a few games in my list that I am just keeping an eye on. There\'s no way I\'ll be able to afford all the games on that list. I simply just listed the ones I\'m keeping a closer eye on.

True. The N64 right now, is DEAD. The only game that\'s yet to be released is a cheesy port of THPS2. Boo. PSX still has Sylphon Filter 3, Chrono Trigger and FFIV, and some others.
One problem I have with n64 is that there games are WAY to expensive(not to mention how slow n64 was coming out with games).
N64 games were EXTREMELY expensive. The drouts between quality games were also beyond HORRIBLE. I don\'t know if a single good game was released within a year after Zelda:OOT. But, that\'s the glory of owning two consoles. When I was bored with one I could just move on to the other.

I haven\'t played GBA, but technically I played Mario Advance. It\'s really only a port of Super Mario Bros 2. If it was a brand new Mario game then I would of probably bought GBA just for that game.

I would naturally read the previews reviews, watch movies of both and then deduce which one is superior
it still does nothing to change my opinion that Rainbow studious will have a gem of a game with Splashdown, I also believe they will acheive this same quality with Pod Racer Revenge as well.

Well I will have to keep my eye out splashdown so far the jury is out on that game. Well I am always trading games in and out so I get so many titles that I can\'t remember. And I buy a lot of games used too.

Sorry Folks, I saw Wave Race at E3 and its nothing special. Only Nintendo fans think its all that.
The two Nintendo titles that were great were Rouge Squadron 2 and Lugi\'s Mansion. Everything else was average.
If it wasn\'t for Rouge Squadron 2, Nintendo wouldn\'t have had much of anything at E3.
I walked out of the Nintendo booth will feeling that they are too focused on kiddy games. I mean its okay to put a few kiddy games and I don\'t mind that, but Rouge Squadron 2 and Eternal Darkness were it. Wave race wasn\'t kiddy, but just was not impressive and was there at the Nintendo booth for two hours total playing some of the games and checking it out.
Kiddy and Cube emulation is what I thought when I walked out of the Nintendo booth.

Ugh. Some of you missed the part where I said my standards were very high since I don\'t make as much money as the rest of you. If it makes you feel any better, I\'m only interested in 5 or 6 NGC games that are coming out this year.

That is a pretty impressive list of PS2 games. Now, I agree, not all of them will be great. But even so, I could name at least 15-20 games that I am interested in.
Now, while we don\'t need any more "assurance" that the PS2 will be a great system, its still nice to see a list of all the games that will be on it that we consider great.

I have genre preferences and usually I only buy games that have good multiplayers and great replay value. I research on games too, mainly I take note of reviews. I\'m constantly low on cash so I can\'t afford to buy a game that I\'ll beat within less than a week or two, but hey, that\'s just my preference.

Also, THERE IS AROUND 200 TITLES ON THE LIST THAT THE GAME POSTED!!! I don\'t know anyone who would disagree with me when I say the crappy out number the quality games. I don\'t care if your interested in 30 games...it\'s still out numbered by the crappy games. It may be a flame, but at least it\'s a logical one.

Exactly...and if developers want to make a game that won\'t make any money, that\'s their problem. Like the other day, I went to Hollywood Video to rent the MGS2 Demo, and I saw a game called "Cookie \'N\' Cream" or something gay like that. I looked at the back cover to see how dumb it was, and it looked like a PlayStation game. I don\'t know why companies even bother making games like that. I\'ll never know...

Because I find it amusing to see these Sony fanboys overreact to when I say something negative about the PS2. It\'s always a blast and I haven\'t done it in a while.
Like I said, only 6 games on NGC interest me and 4 on the PS2 interest me. That\'s only a 2 games difference which isn\'t very much so people shouldn\'t care about the nu,ber of games that I\'m interested in for PS2.
If we don\'t like you then why do you insist coming here?

Jumpman I think its not so much your point its more to do with the way you express yourself..... dimplomacy is obviously not a strong part of your personality.
One thing I have noticed is that you only come on here to antagonise people or express negative views on a system you\'re not interested in.
You yourself have stated that you will defo not be getting a PS2... fine, why dont you goto a different site then about the system that you are interested in? We like our PS2 here and so therefore like to discuss things about it and future releases.

Geezer\'s right. It not so much the opinion, where it\'s expressed, or the orientation of the people who read it.. but it\'s how the opinion is presented, worded, that really irks most people here. I think a good portion of the "trolls" (not to say Jumpman is one of em, although he borders on it at times) here are really just seriously lacking in tact.
I mean, we have a lot of members who have a somewhat low opinion of the PS2 who post in a non-flamitory and considerate manner.. and never have a problem with anyone except for the Sony fanboys. hyper, AlteredBeast, Dr. Yassam, and for a time Soul Reaver and Goombastomper.. just for example. Likewise, there\'s a lot of members here that go to other console oriented forums who never have problems. Hell a few of our members are even moderators at MSXbox and although I really don\'t care for Nintnedo.. I had no problems posting with the guys over at Nintnedose. On the opposite side of the coin though, I don\'t dare post at SegaWeb because I know that I would end up causing problems and would probably be a most hated member within a week. Despite the fact that I like and respect Sega.
So Jump.. really all we\'re asking you to do is to learn some tact when dealing with subject matter that you know will upset the majority of users. Not to say that you can\'t express your opinion, but try to express it in a different way. There\'s a huge difference between saying "The PS2\'s game lineup is 90% crap" and saying, "I\'m just not interested in 90% of the games comming out for it."

How can I say "NO" to all those titles? Well, to begin with, I would imagine 90% of them will be lackluster. If I want to be optomistic, I would say 70%. I had the same problem with the original PS. Sony has zero quality control. So, beyond the few that stand out for one reason or another, I could care less.
Personally, I perfer "quality over quanity".

I have nothing left to say but this. Yes, I do try to make friends here. Yes, I do indeed have a social life. I am very involved in my community and school, and have become Treasurer of my school. I enjoy posting here, when I can. As you can see though, it is not that often. Jumpman is entitled to his opinions, and we should respect that. However you cannot force everyone to think the way you do. You are on a Sony Forum, do you think that %100 of the people are going to agree when you say that the PS2 lineup is not so great. Be logical, don\'t try to change the world, change your attitude.
If there is one thing I have learned in my lifetime, it\'s that rain falls, but you also get some sun. :)

very well said vivi. the personal threats and insults MUST GO on these forums. it is just sick when people insult others for their supposed "lack of friends", when they really dont even know them. i have seen many people tell jumpman he has no friends, (a stupid insult at that). its time the personal insults go they should not even be on these forums at all. i know im bringing up a broader subject, but i think that some of the fanboys should understand that if they make personal insults, they will (most likely) be banned. (its up to the mods.)
