Yeah, I stopped by dvdtalk today which I use to go to every twenty minutes and I noticed it\'s coming out. Very cool. The rumor about it not coming out till 2006 is obviously bunk.
-
This is great news.
But when are the original Star Wars coming. Thats what everyone really wants to know.
My guess is not until all three new oones are out considereing that they happen after the new ones
-
Yea who cares about the Phantom Menace. I\'m waiting for The Empire Strikes Back. That was the best Star Wars ever. Yoda was introduced and he was like "I\'m Yoda and I\'m 500 billion years old but I\'m gonna kick your ass anyway" Lol he was the coolest. He had the most force within him. He would kick Lukes and Obi Ones and Queer Gon Giz\'s (lol) ass all at the same time.

If this is true, then I say "UP YOURS GEORGE LUCAS!" How can they release that piece of cr@p TPM on DVD when they haven\'t released episodes 4 and 5 yet? They can keep The Return of the Jedi negative in it\'s shoebox for all I care. The TPM negative should be deposited in the nearest fireplace as soon as possible.

Ouch. . . harsh.
-
Well, I will HAVE to buy this DVD. I own Phantom Menace on VHS, but Phantom Menace suits for the DVD like fist in the eye - due to the heavy special effects.
I would like to see the original trilogy on DVD as well [ as my good ol\' tapes are getting old, and are in quite bad shape ], but this is great news to me.
Actually, this DVD could even make TPM better - due to the deleted scenes feature!

And they arent going to be dumb deleted scenes that look really stupid. They said they completed them just for the dvd release!

TPM was the worst Star Wars picture : (
The best feature missing from the DVD is one that allows you to edit all Jar Jar Binks content!
;)
-
I disagree! the best DVD feature missing from this title is the ability to KILL JAR JAR!!!!!!!!!!!! I\'m all for cute little things like Pokémon and Telletibues, but JarJar isn\'t little and his cuteness is just plain crap! But
anyhoochoo!!!
Getting to the final Jedi battle at the end of the film should be a snap. It\'d be a great improvement over memorising the time and then fastforwarding the tape to that point, watching it and then rewinding it back to its original starting point again.
TPM might\'ve been the worst movie of the series, but ha! Its the best damn looking and sounding one that was ever made! And that\'s the main thing.

I hate this film, the storyboard is the worst I´ve seen... I only love the special effects ;)

Here\'s what I WANT to see in the Star Wars / Empire Strikes Back DVDs, whenever they are released:
1. Every trailer ever made for both films. Foreign language versions would be great too. There were many many trailers produced, considering all the rereleases and marketing campaigns in the 80\'s.
2. DTS audio. TPM doesn\'t appear to have it ??????
3. The ability to play the entire film with or without the Special Edition changes. Ideally, I\'d like to be able to program my DVD player to include only the Special Edition changes I LIKE. This is probably impossible with current DVD technology. BTW, I\'d bet anything that Lucas will not permit people to view the original versions on any DVD he releases.
4. Commentary with Irvin Kershner and Richard Edlund, among others. Lucas need not be present.
