These shots make me weep when I look at the PS2 version shots

GeForce 3 rockets Giants visuals
Bump-mapping is the geekiest thing in existence, but if it makes games look this good, we’ll most certainly have all of it
Giants: Citizen Kabuto, the acclaimed PC strategy title from Planet Moon, is about to be bundled with nVidia’s GeForce 3 graphics card. That’s the boring bit. For the interesting part, check out the shots to the left.
That’s what you get for being rich enough to afford cutting edge hardware. It was obvious when Quake coder John Carmack showed the Doom 3 engine at MacWorld Tokyo running on the chip that this was the step forward desktop enthusiasts had been waiting for since the advent of serious 3D cards.
The reason you should be paying close attention to the look of Citizen Kabuto (the giant monster) in these shots is that Xbox’s graphics chip is the next generation along again from GeForce 3. Lorks. Providing developers can push some engaging play onto those DVDs, you’re going to have games more ridiculously good looking than Britney Spears, naked and oiled. ‘Nuff said.
In the meantime, those of you with pockets deeper than the Mariana Trench can enjoy watching a gloriously realised Kabuto beat Meccs to death on your atomic, space age PCs. Console fans will just have to wait…

there Nice for a pc game, but nothing special. What pisses me off is having the power of a Geforce 3 and not being able to use all of it, due to the computer architecture which acts as bottle necks.
Also developers don\'t use all of the cards features and power due to the fact that there game must run on older computer hardware.
None the less those pics are very good.

That\'s the thing about computer games, you have to update your computer bi-monthly to have optimal graphics. At least with consoles graphic quality isn\'t greatly enhance untill another console comes out, years instead of months.

Looks great, wish i had a better computer though so i could put this baby to good use, i got a P2-300, and i\'m not spending money on a computer that will be obsolete in 6 months. :D
I spent 11K on new computers in the last 6 years. I\'m not doing that again. :D

I just ordered my new comp and cuple days ago its gonna be a monster. Dont wanna list specs again but I was gonna get GF3 but then thought, why spend like $350 on a card thats not even gonna be used to full potential yet? So I just got a GF2. In a year I\'ll get one of the updated GF3\'s... There\'s no need for it yet.
Oh BTW the pics are beautiful :D especially the 1st one and the last few

Obviously you do in order to respond. You feel sorry for me, I feel sorry for you or anyone(except rich people and computer junkies) to pay $699(can) $450(USA) for a graphics card that will take at least 2 years for developers to really take advantage of.

$700?! Where the hell do you live that you have to pay $700. I live on Long Island in New York and almost everywhere I bet, well atleast in my area, the most it goes up to is probobly $420... Sucks for you its $700 where you live.

Thats what the game looks like on my 64meg GF2 (at 20ish FPS but I am not so anal as some [shakes a fist at those who complain about 30FPS]). The game looks great but suffers horribly from its low-poly count. What does the PS2 version look like?

Yes,I was thinking about posting these.
But you will only get to play this game if you buy an Elsa Gladiac GF.3 card,since this is a GF.3 optimized version of Giants and will not be sold in stores.It\'ll come with Gladiac cards.

The textures are nice and sharp.. Almost 2 sharp :)
It does look nice.. But it still doesnt use that many polygons as you can see.. (I hope your not blind!)
IMO (strictly IMO!!) I think FFX looks way better..(with the effects, water, gras ect. and the characters!)

TOT, something you should take into account is the cumulative affect your many posts can have when a reader responds to your ‘ho-hum, I\'m pissed the PC bottlenecks will keep us from getting the good stuff\' or whatever attitude. For example: your recent "Tshi*ts just tells it like it is" or "Both my girlfriend and I realize her PS2 was a bad investment", the kind of crap that eventually culminates to a point where it saturates, on the surface what might be considered an otherwise benign response.
I wouldn\'t, shouldn\'t, speak for ddaryl. I can only tell you my reading of semi-quotes from you in the paragraph I laid out above lead me to believe along these lines;
a) TOT never really played a PS2 for any great length of time, only enough to say you have without thinking yourself a liar
b) no way TOT has a girlfriend or else her tastes are exactly as anal as his own (having come across his comments often enough, both situations seem very hard to believe from my perspective) and if he does have a GF the purchase of a PS2 was well beyond either of their means
c) TOT and Tshi*ts are not two meatheads, no, they are one meathead with at least two different user names. His writing style/skills and board demeanor all seem a perfect match to me. The timely way he almost always shows up to back Tshi*ts helps as well

TOT, you can see how it goes. We all have our opinions and are entitled to share them. This is the mis-information highway after all, with an urgent need to take everything said with a healthy lick of salt. If you\'re smart, you don\'t just go by one little blurb or a sentence or two.
On topic: Those shots remind me of MDK2 on PS2 for some reason, only with much more intense character detail and textures, of coarse. If the PS2 version shows some blue nip, I\'ll be playing this game without shedding a single tear;)
As much an optimist as TOT in my own way, I look forward to seeing even better looking games on the PS2 down the road.

Beyond this point it\'s all speculation, I Do in fact have a Playedstation2(that one was for you), When my girlfriend(the one in which you believe I don\'t have) went to get our PS2, this is true, I had a bad feeling about the purchase but my girlfriend really wanted a DVD player, GO FIGURE. I find it funny that some don\'t consider those shots that great and think Halo looks amazing. IMO those Giants\' shots look very similar to XBOX games. Oh well. Who cares.

suprise........PC games look good? Instead of complaning about low poly counts or bottlenecks can we just get along and use our eyes. PC games look great. This whole thing with the PS2 taking out the PC was started by Sony touting the PS2 as the next all in one computer entertainment center. But the PC has never been any threat to the PS2 why bash it. I mean 12% of the gaming market that is nothing. Does the PC represent to X-box? No. But many hardcore PS2 fans must think so. Anyone who does not think those shots look good are in denial. Thats ok but it must bother them. I heard....Oh the Ps2 looks good but there is not enough vram and it falls short in the texture department. But the games look good thats all that matters. Why have Ps2(fanboys...sorry) always looked at the Ps2 and compared it directly to the PC. Because of X-Box no because the PC has always been that platform consloes looked up to for the graphics. It has been the king. That is where the Ps2 wants to be now. When I look at the Ps2 I see some things I have not seen on the PC and on the other hand seen some things the Ps2 cant do. I like each for its own abilities. People often overuse the need to upgrade excuse. If I had to upgrade every year to enjoy great entertainment I would even do it twice a year but people who say that dont game on thier PC. At least you can upgrade it. All I know is that the Ps2 rocks and the PC definatly rocks. Each in its own way. Just cant get enought of WW2 online. Good gaming. PS. 8 out of the 11 best games(NEXT GEN) at E3 were PC games..go figure.

I just can not fathom how anyone can not be impressed with those. They might not be the end all screenshots but damn I have 0 problems with graphics like these.
I guess I find it irritating when people go out of there ways to find flaws.
but hey different strokes for different folks, I do find it comical though
