Fight Club. My DVD screws up when I play it... Here\'s what happens:
It all starts out perfect then when I start the actual movie it works fine for 3 seconds then the picture gets darker and fuzzes and distorts some lines. Then after 3 seconds it works perfect again..... and it repeats, over, and over, and over.
I got so mad I about threw my ps2 out the window. But I didn\'t. Instead I pulled out my very dusty manual. I looked in troubleshooting. Then read that I needed to buy a cord that hooks straight to my TV. \'Cause I\'ve been using my VCR. So now tomorrow I gotta buy one for 20 bucks. Hopefully it works.... If it doesn\'t I gotta call Sony.
Has anyone had this problem playing DVD\'s? If you have then are you using the VCR cord or TV cord?
Help me!!! If you can.....

It\'s called MACROVISION COPY PROTECTION. THIS IS THE STANDARD IN ALL DVD PLAYERS. IT PREVENTS YOU FROM COPYING A DVD ONTO VCR TAPE. SOLUTION: DON\'T HOOK THE PS2 UP THROUGH A VCR! YOUR PS2 IS NOT BROKEN. IT\'S WORKING JUST FINE (sorry about the caps my pinky hit caps lock
-
thanks dude.... I\'m feeling a little better now.......

Yeah the funny thing is if you run it through a Beta Player it works fine. So I can record my DVD\'s to Beta. On one tape i usually get the movie and special features. To bad Beta is dead. I here thier is one place in Chicago that still makes them. But my supply will last me along time.

well, at least you bought Fight Club, thats on my list of top 3 movies of all time along with American History X and Suicide Kings, excellents movies!!

What the hell did you get a beta for? You might not know this, but Beta is the standard for TV networks. Yes, what we are seeing on cable TV right now is from betas.
-
Um yeah, but it\'s a totally different grade of Beta..
And I think you can use any VCR that was made long ago back in that era.
-
Take the Beta and transfer it to VHS! (If ya can do it that is! :D )

That happend when i played tapes on my vcr..............damn 20 year old piece of poo.

I still haven\'t seen Fight Club yet, my brother has it on DVD and is always talking about how great it is. I have to rent it! I just bought the John Woo collection. It\'s got "The Killer" and "Hard Boiled". I watched The Killer at my brothers house and loved it, so I bought the Box set today. It\'s preety expensive though for 2 movies! In Canada anyway.

I fixed it...... anyway... I love Fight Club..... the only thing that sux about it is that the screen is letterbox..... which I can get used to but a lot of people complain about it.... and it\'s starting to bum me out... :(
I watched that movie today... and then popped in the second disk and had like 30 more mins of fun time.... with all of the cool stuff in it. I especially liked looking at all of the videos of how they made the CG parts in the movie. And guess what... I still haven\'t looked at everything yet on that second disk. :)
-
I have Fight Club aswell. The second disc is really cool, I have gone through the whole disc and probably will go through it again. The 4:3 size screen is irritating but I suppose it is still better than a VHS.
Anyway I think that I should take the day off from work to watch Fight Club again!!

Eh, what do you mean? You\'d rather have a pan & scan version (4:3)? YUCK! Movies should be widescreen... I can\'t stand 4:3 movies... it should be an anamorphic transfer though but even normal letterbox is better than pan & scan IMO.
Tell me if I misunderstood something. :)
-
Try this... if you watch the movie press STOP (only once) then go to the menue with select and highlight the screensettings... you now can choose between 16:9 or 4:3 Pan-Scan or 4:3 Letterbox ! If you have a 16:9 TV than use this, if not use 4:3 Letterbox !!!
Maybe your PS2 is switched to 4:3 Pan-Scan, that will fill the whole screen, but there´s something missing at the left or right... with 4:3 Letterbox you will get the original Cinemaformat, but with black bars in the upper and lower part...
Look at this HP for more info: http://www.dvddemystified.com/dvdfaq.html#3.5
...and here is some additional info on "The Fight Club": http://www.dvdreview.com/movies/VaultTitle.asp?movie_id=7215
I hope this´ll help you...

snatch is pretty cool. Its weird like fight club.In a good way.
-
fight club is the sh1t i got it on dvd ive watched it like 20 times and every time it is beter than the last cause the first time you see it its really confusing even after the ending i think thats why a lot of people hated it cause they didnt realize how deep it was

Yes I knew that.... and I tried it.....16:9 sux because everything is stretched from top to bottom. and pan-scan won\'t work with Fight Club so it\'s either 16:9 or 14:3.... and I\'m gonna have to stick with 14:3.
-
You mean 4:3 Letterbox... right ?!
Well, this is the ONLY way to watch a 16:9 movie on a 4:3 TV ! You have to buy a 16:9 TV or get used to the black bars... Pan-Scan is ****, because it cuts a lot of information from the left and the right.
Get over it ! It´s not so bad if you have a large 4:3 TV... but if it´s a very small one... uh... forget it... it´s like listening to a DVD without a Dolby Digital/dts receiver... :D

could someone tell me where the outtakes are for fight club because it says on the back of the package that there are outtakes but i cant seem to find them
-
I think it\'s the "Missing" on the second disk.
-

I don\'t think they have them then.... They just put that on the back to make you buy it.
