Title: Let\'s make an IRC chatroom
Post by: Weltall on June 25, 2001, 03:55:08 AM: In lieu of the voicechat, we should have an IRC room. I went and made one already. To get to it, connect to studio64.yi.org on port 6667 and join #ps2central.

We will need someone always in the room, or someone who knows more than me will have to acquire a bot to keep the room open. I\'ll keep it open as often as possible.

To anyone with pull on the PS2C website, you guys should find a Java IRC console for everyone not wanting or caring to download mIRC.

also, is there a way to get a free forum (kinda like this one?) i mightve seen one there... help! i need a free forum/messageboard.

Post by: Weltall on June 25, 2001, 06:40:24 AM: 6667 is usually the default port. studio64.yi.org is the server, and when you connect, it will ask you what room to join, and the room is #ps2central

But if someone puts in an IRC Java console, you won\'t need to bother with these details.

I made an AIM Chat. You have to copy and paste it into the Address Bar because the VB Code screws it up if I put the URL tag on it. :D:D

Post by: Coredweller on June 25, 2001, 05:15:15 PM: I joined the IRC server, and the channel wasn\'t there. I created the channel, and of course there\'s no one around.

We need to set a time to meet. It appears that most of the posters in this thread are from the US, so prime time should be OK (8pm-whenever, EST) I can\'t do this stuff at work, but I\'ll take a look at it in the evenings now and then. Check youz later.

[edit] OK, I\'ve had the channel open for about an hour, and no one\'s showed up. Maybe some other time.
