Title: Tekken on gamecube ?
Post by: jeepnrocks on June 27, 2001, 09:26:06 PM
from http://cube.ign.com
I know this is purely rumor but what do you guys think ?

Big Japanese Support
You\'ve no doubt heard that bumbling fool Matt Casamassina talk about Namco support for Nintendo\'s GCN console. The truth is that anonymous insiders claim to have actually seen a version of Tekken Tag Tournament running on Nintendo\'s hardware months ago, but for reasons unknown Namco decided not to show it at E3. Now, though, I\'ve heard that versions of bigger, more recent fighters could be on the way for GameCube -- namely Tekken 4 and Soul Calibur 2. No big surprise, really, but good news all the same. Perhaps we\'ll even see a Ridge Racer game arrive from an outsourced team. Wink. Wink.

yeah but do you think it will happen ?
I am guessing it won\'t. I believe sony is paying big bucks to keep the tekken series on the ps2.

It wouldn\'t matter what system\'s controller Tekken would use, because in the end it\'s still a BUTTON SMASHER.

Anyways, I would rather see Soul Caliber on NGC then Tekken. I probably wouldn\'t buy it if it were to come on NGC, but I\'d definitely give it a good rent. That game on DC was by far the best 3D fighting game ever. The Tekken series cannot compare to that game, in fact, it\'s  utter crap when you compare it to SC.

Sure some characters in tekken got button mashing, but if you take time to learn ALL the characters like me.  Tekken is one of the deepest games ever and as for button mashers I can kill them there no problem for me.  As for tekken and soul cailbur there both good games.  I do not think soul cailbur is better than tekken.  That\'s why people got opinions right?

I agree, tekken is easy to pick up but very difficult to master. I also feel that soul calibur was waaaayyyy more of a button masher than tekken ever could be. What was the dude with the nun - chuks ? I would just start hitting **** and this dude would go ape sh!t. glowing colors and spinning around hehe .. i liked him.
But both games were designed by the same company with, what i believe was the general idea of being fun for everyone but still containing tons of depth for the true players who wanted to master the game.
I dont think there is a button masher alive who could beat me in tekken or soul calibur. (maybe 1 out of 10 in soul calibur)

That dude from sc is maxi he makes eddy look good with button mashing.  I know button masher are no problem for me.  Good to see someone on the forum is a good tekken and soul cailbur player.  I agree tekken is very hard to master.

Ok! Let me get on a plane to Australia and we\'ll see who is better! /sarcasm

Now, I read a lot of your topics about TTT back when ocnsoledome was up so I now how much time you put into the game and yes there is a way to easily beat up button smashers in that series, hence why I keep losing to my friend who owns a PS2 in that game(though when he first got it I could button smash and he would actually try and I\'d still beat him 50% of the time).

The point I was trying to make is Soul Caliber is simply the best 3d fighting game ever. It got a perfect score from Famistu, only 2 or 3 games did that. You\'d think it would be deeper than Tekken just after hearing that but go play it for yourself and find out.

Dammit, EVERY fighting game is like that with the exception of the Virtua Fighter series- hard to pick and and IMPOSSIBLE to master. ;)

I\'m guessing with the all caps and dumb posts like this one, you won\'t be here long...

I doubt we see Tekken on any other system, I\'ve said it before. But, I would not be surprised to see Soul Calibur 2 on the GC.  Which suits me just fine, as I prefer Soul Calibur over Tekken anyday.

Kilik kicks ass. :D

(Did I spell his name right? lol )

I would agree that ttt is easy to pick up but difficult to master but

Soul Calibur is just a lot more fun. And thats what counts.
But I still love tekken. Just SC is just so much more fun.
