Has anyone heard of any hardware or simple software attachment for PS2 (US model) that allows it to play MP3 music files or of any in development and where?
Thanks in advance

Not yet.
Once the HDD/Ethernet adaptor get\'s released there will be. Sony/Aol and other partners have stated that web media will be available to d/l and view on the PS2, meaning mpeg, avi, mov, and most likely MP3\'s:)
