Title: Yoshimitsu\'s New Move.
Post by: IronFist on June 29, 2001, 12:54:17 PM
For all the Yoshi fans out there, this should be very good news to you.  If you don\'t even know who or what "Yoshi" is, don\'t bother reading this. ;)

Quote
According to Shogun Yoshimitsu (translation by WCMaxi) the Japanese magazine "The PlayStation" has reported a very interesting bit of information on Yoshimitsu. Remember a few days back we mentioned that Yoshimitsu\'s Sword Reveral (b+1+4) is now blockable? According to the magazine Yoshimitsu will learn whatever move he counters with the Sword Reversal, but the move itself does no damage.

Unfortunately they did not go into any further detail, so many questions remain unanswered to this point. We don\'t know how long the "learned move" lasts, does it last all round or can he learn a new one by countering another move? How will the move be executed? Let\'s say he learns Kazuya\'s Gut Punch (d/f+2), that would interfere with the command of his own Uppercut. The details are still very sketchy as to how this will work.

Also there is no mentions as to what would happen if Yoshimitsu happens to counter a move that is part of a multi hit string. Maybe we\'ll learn more about this when the game goes on beta test in Japan.

Whether it just learns a move for one round, or for a few seconds, this move sounds like it will rock!  The possibilities are endless.  This will make Yoshi have some really cool combos.  I am guessing that Yoshi will have the same button command to do this learned move, nomatter what move it is.

I think it\'s rather stupid to be calling Yoshimitsu "Yoshi" because I hate Yoshi...but that\'s just the way I feel. I also think people are just a little lazy to write Yoshimitsu...and then Yoshimitsu...and then Yoshimitsu 5 times in a post. Anyway...

People do it for the same reason we call the Playstation 2 the PS2 and the Gamecube the NGC/GCN.  It is convenient.  I wrote the whole name in the title of the topic.  Isn\'t that enough? :)

Back to the topic, what do you think about the new move?

It sounds like this new move will open up a great number of possibilities to the advanced Tekken players.  I\'d like to see how people take advantage of it.

this sounds awesome!!! The possibilities with this one ARE almost endless, it sounds great. Let\'s hope they implement it well, imagine the kind of things you could do.... Pauls phoenix smasher would be handy, some of ling xiaoyu\'s quicker moves would be handy.

Mind you, to an alert player the sword counter would be in the back of their minds, and people will FREQUENTLY go for it. If you know it\'s coming, it\'s easy to avoid copping it.

Btw, to ps2gamer_59, have you ever been known as "doeswhateveraspidycan" and "gambit911"??

Another Lei/Yoshi user? I am not alone in this world after all!

That\'s great news btw. But since the move doesn\'t do damage anymore, I\'ve lost a few neat juggles... :( Gah. Anyways, this one opens up a heap of new possibilities... now if we just got more specific information... keep us informed IronFist :)

Not alone at all.  I\'m a Yoshi/Lei user as well. :)  Yoshi and Lei are the two oddballs of Tekken.  Their fighting styles are not like any others.  Both of them are hard to master (although I do think Lei is a little easier to use affectively :)).  I hope Lei is back in Tekken 4 with a ton more moves.  That would make him very cool.

Awww yes :D

Imagine Yoshi with bob\'s F,D,d/f + 4

he would finally have a decent juggle starter that is not so damn slow to execute.

I might have to train on my Yoshi in TTT some more now in preperation....
