I don\'t know whether to hate this movie or love i. It was really REALLY strange. I can\'t possibly explain it...
-
It wasn\'t what I expected it to be, and I\'m happy about that. I enjoyed it. The ending reminded me of a story called "For a Breath I Tarry" by Roger Zelazny. I don\'t want to spoil it for anyone, so I won\'t say anymore.

I shall go and see it... but true, it has gotten some mixed bag of reviews - some completely bringing it down but then some raising it to heavens.
But I will decide myself whether I like it or not. Some critic even said it needs multiple views to \'open up\' and become the great wonderful movie it is.
But I have readed some heavy spoilers already, so I know quite a lot... I know the plot, detailedly, and some of the twists - but I haven\'t readed anything about the ending...

One of the best movies I have ever seen.

Now that\'s a comment I\'m hoping to hear from my mouth after the movie...
Could you give us a review of your own? Something to back up your statement? Why was it one of the best movies you had ever seen?
;)

is this the one with vinny jones ????

well i think its pretty dark movie for Steilberg mainly since it was Kubriks movie in the first place
personally i think Kubrick would have ended it at a different part of the movie - people that have seen it know what i mean - the last ten minutes is all Spielberg you can tell becuase of his upbringing

Going into the movie, I wasn\'t expecting much, I actually didn\'t want to see it at all. But, part of my job is to screen the movies that we get so I had to watch it. There isn\'t much action in the movie, but it\'s very thought provoking. It\'s also a very emotional movie, lot\'s of people have been crying when they left the theater. The overall look of the film is dark, and its prediction for the future is equally dark. As I watched it I was really into it, but I didn\'t know how much I actually liked it. A few hours after the movie as I thought about it more and more, I realized just how good it really was. It\'s sort of hard to explain.
I will say if you are expecting action or something futuristic like the 5th element you will be dissapointed. I also don\'t think people under 18 will like it. Sure there are exceptions to that rule, but a majority of them won\'t be patient enough to enjoy the film.

I won\'t watch it though i like Kubrik,
i just don\'t like Stevey the wonder dog Spiel$$$meister. :D

What?
Too bad your closemindedness will cause you to miss an excellent movie. Your loss.

I know exactly what part you are talking about. I was expecting it to end there also. I think it would have been a better movie if they ended it there (although it would be a lot sadder), but it was still very good.

yea thats my exact thoughts
if the movie ended there it would have gotten a lot more great reviews by critics - it just made more sense to end it there than what Speilber did with it - of course its just my opinion but thats my thought about it
still worth seeing though

You should go see it an judge for yourself. Some people loved it (I did), others hated it.

If you could make the last 15 or 20 minutes magically disappear, I would have no problem recommending this to almost anyone. It was fairly evident as to whom had written which part, and with that in mind I found that the contrast in styles detracted from what could have been a more fluid movie. All in all, a decent movie with thought provoking, well written (in parts), high production values with better than average acting. If anyone misses A.I. in the theatre and you decide to rent it, do yourself a favour and stop watching when the narrator starts to fade-off repeating "and the next day,....and the next day......."

I\'ve heard a lot of criticism towards the ending, but many have loved it.
I\'m really excited about this movie now - as I think I\'m going to like it. Aaron, I\'m 15 - but I believe I have the attention-span wich is required. I enjoyed Blade Runner -director\'s cut very much - seen it about 10 times - and while it wasn\'t what I expected, it was much better as a deep thinking movie than a straight-forward blast-fest it could\'ve been.
Damn Finland... the premiere for the film is about a month away...
