Title: Nascar Heat 2002
Post by: w1ngman on July 02, 2001, 05:21:18 PM
Okay...I\'ve read gamers\' reviews on some other sites this evening & most speak extremely well of this game in all accounts except for sound.  I can live with that...but I can\'t live without some reviews from the members right here in our own forum...

Anyone here been playing this title yet?  Last thing I could find here as a thread still had this title being discussed as it existed in its "preview" of screen shots & hopes & desires.  Need something more "current" please...

Since I purchased this title this evening... but am a titch timid to open it with GT3 coming around the corner, I\'m not gonna tear into it unless I get some rousing support for this being a great game.  So let\'s here it...and soon!!! [cuz I REAAALLLY would like to get some more racing fix in my blood asap] :D

Oh $hit! I just read a review that says this game has also been programmed to support Logitec\'s new FF Steering Wheel optimized for GT3!!!  This should make for two excellent reasons to get the FF steering wheel...course I\'m still waiting for some feedback of another sort right at the moment...  Come on guys!!!  Give me th\' dirt...and quick...I can\'t stand waiting like this!!!!!

Hey w1ngman you have the game in your hands? Damn I would open it!  This is the Nascar game I was waiting for.  I trash the EA 2001 Nascar game  but Nascar heat it the bomb!!!   IGN.com gave Nascar Heat a 8.1.  Here\'s what they said about the sound,
"The game\'s audio is appears to be fairly authentic, at least when you compare it to what it sounds like on TV. The sounds of cars hitting each other or the walls seem right on and the spotter, who tells you where other cars are in relation to you, will talk your ear off much like is the case in the real deal. The problem here is that after recently watching a NASCAR event live, the engine sounds in the game just fail to impress. While they do seem accurate to what you get when watching a race broadcasted on television, it fails to mimic the true power of the engine sounds when you\'re at a real race (turning the volume up doesn\'t really help). Maybe it\'s just asking for too much, but the powerful sounds of these 700+ horsepower V8\'s are one of the biggest reasons to like the sport, so it\'d be much appreciated if this aspect could be brought home completely."
I think its as real it can get!   Open it!  :D

Alright pstwo!!! That was all I needed, and frankly I SUPER appreciate the IGN.com report card on the sound :)

(frankly, I think a reply of "Aw, just open it!" would have sufficed as I am flat-out jonesin\' for some racing action!!!). :nut:

...put your ear to your monitor and you can hear the celophane crinkling as w1ngman rrrrRRRRiiiiiIIIIippppS into Nascar HEAT 2002...
