I am a big nintendo fan and will buy a gamecube for sure. But november seems like a long time away so latley I\'ve been looking into buying a ps2. Should I? Is there going to be a price drop soon? Was anyone dissapointed with theirs?
thanks
-
Yes (get it).
Possibly a price cut (but not until gamecube comes out).
No (no regrets).
I say, if you got the cash, throw a bash.
(I\'ll take the cheese, please)
Go for it, but only if you want to spend around $400 to $500, then go out and buy a gamecube.
-
Definatle I think that you should buy one.(ps2 that is)
No I have not had any problems with it and I love it. i have no regrets buyying it at all. Just be sure that you have enough $$ so ypu can buy all the little knick knacks that you will need as well as the system.(extra controler, memory card, Maybe a dvd remote if you plan to use it as a DVD player as well.)
-
Q)Should I?
A) If you got $300 and can\'t wait
Q)Is there going to be a price drop soon?
A) There was a price drop for the PS2 in Japan. I would expect there to be a price drop on the PS2 until October or November.
Q)Was anyone dissapointed with theirs?
A) Well kinda...the first ps2 i bought was not a good one. but sony sent me out a new one and haven\'t had any problems since..i\'ve been enjoying my 13 ps2 games ;)

some of the greatest games are coming out for the ps2 this month, Gran Turismo 3 is the best racing/driving sim game ever made, the graphics are unbelieveable, exc...
this would be the best time to buy a ps2. if you are a teenager, this is a great syspem for you, red faction, SSX, NBA Street, Twisted Metal Black, Tekken Tag Tournament, are all games that are a ton of fun, and IMO are AAA games.
the ps2 has many ups, and if you dont have a dvd player, it works great. right now, ps2 is the system to have.
if your anything like me, i cant stand the wait. and im lucky, cuz my favorite games are coming out on ps2

Definetly....especially the sickness of Twisted Metal:Black...
-
I am definitely down with that sickness

NO, do not!!!!
Don\'t buy a PS2 now. If you are going to buy one, wait until the price drop, and some better games. Slim pickins right now.
NGC is less than 5 months away. Space World is in August, and all the games scheduled for the next year will be shown. If you really need a fix for some good games. I highly recommend a Dreamcast. Only 99$(79$ if you look around) and some really great games IMO.
Just keep saying to yourself, "Starfox Adventures, Resident Evil 0, Smash Bros. Melee, Mario, Wave Race, Metroid..."

Yeah, too bad only about 3 of those games are worth 50$...
and not one of them is worth the 300$ admission price...
-
to you maybe but it seems like to other people that most of them are worth the $50.
-
I wouldn\'t call it a hatred...
Anyway, I\'m just trying to get through to him to just save the money and buy more games with Gamecube. It\'s LESS than 5 months away. That\'s like 18 weeks. You can wait.
Besides, games like FFX, Jak and Daxter, WipEout Fusion, ICO, Crash, MGS2, and others don\'t come around until this fall anyway.
In the meantime, why don\'t you take up another hobby.

lol u ask a PSX2 forum if u should buy a psx2 lol
sorry man i could antisipate the response billions or years ago dude
-
You should if it won\'t negatively affect your saving for GC. If buying it will make you have less to spend on Nov.5, don\'t do it. If however you can buy both w/o a problem, there\'s absolutely no reason not to. There are plenty of games worth $50 Ginko... Onimusha, Shadows of Destiny, TM: B, SSX, RRV, TTT, Escape From Monkey Island, etc...
-
Buy a ps2?
No thanks, I already have one! :{>
Buy it, don\'t buy it, that\'s your choice. Personally I wouldn\'t be without one, but maybe that\'s just me...

You are so right :)
PS: Buy PS2...
-
I think you should hold out for a GC. I honestly think the only games on PS2 that are worth the money are SSX, TM: Black, and/or TTT if you\'re a fan of the series. $50 is seriously a lot of money, and it isn\'t worth it if your game usually sits inside of its box instead of the PS2. Of course there\'s GT3 but it\'s not out yet...
We\'ve seen what the PS2 has to offer, I think if you had to pick now you should be one of the early adopters of Nintendo\'s new system rather than a late adopter of Sony\'s pricey one.
This is coming from a fan of both companies.

I say.. make up your own mind. Cause either way you go with the opinions in this room, and you\'ll run the chance of being disappointed.. weither by blowin 300 bucks on a dust collector or by missin out on some stellar games.
My advice to you is figure out how many games it would take you to get satisfied enough to pay 300. Rent or borrow a PS2 and start playin games. If you find enough games that you like to fill you\'re requirements.. then by all means buy a PS2. It\'ll only get better from here. If can\'t find enough games you like to justify the purchase then wait, or try the Dreamcast if you haven\'t already.
That\'s the only way you\'re going to be TRUELY satisfied with your decision... and satisfaction is awful sweet when there\'s in excess of 400 bucks riding on the line.

The kind of games I\'m into are bloody, shoot-em-up, horror, and high action.... The gamecube\'s games are all kiddie games for 10 and younger... I mean mario just gets old.... doing the same thing over and over.....I hate puzzle games by the way and gamecube\'s games are filled with them!
Playstation 2 offers me all of the above and is for more "mature" gamers... If you can\'t handle it... Buy a puzzlishus gamecube...
Then again... I could be wrong.. This is all my own opinion....
-
Heh! I got my PS2 on tuesday and today I´m getting it mo....
GameCube ownzzz!
-
oh my god, ginko has come back?!?! say it aint so, Ginko.....
-
I\'d say wait. It seems to me you want the PS2 as a gaming fix until GameCube. If this is the case go for the Dreamcast. Got a great load of triple A titles and it won\'t cost so much in comparasion to the PS2.
