I find it so funny that people are blasting the HDD for the reported 150 price tag, but no one is saying anything about paying 100 bucks for a steering wheel. The HDD and the ethernet card will be able to used for many games. The steering wheel is only for a handful. I dunno, maybe you can use it for Madden, but I dunno. I just think it\'s interesting. Personally I think 150 is fine for a HD and an ethernet card. Heck, you guys buy many games that you probably only really enjoy for about 2 weeks. How many of you really play Onimusha anymore? You can rent a game for a month for 20 bucks. That\'s about all the true life a lot of these games really have yet we all buy the darn things.
I just really don\'t understand the beef with 150 bucks.
I essentially have to buy the darn thing because I have no one to play all the time. That is of course until my little guy learns the rules of football.

I\'ll blast both. Neither is worth more than $50. IMO anyone who buys either is nuts.

Nice try at what? They\'re too expensive. You didn\'t prove me wrong. It\'s just my opinion...

It goes to show that it\'s not a matter of price, ut demand. There are more games that would benefit the wheel out right now, with a higher demand for the wheel, more wheels will be sold. I hope that when more games become available that will ustilize HDD, that the demand will increase, and we can all stop arguing about it.

Too expensive????????
Again find me a HD with ethernet adapter and 56K modem all in one for less then $150
Find me a Force feedback steering wheel for $50
If you can\'t then your original comment about them being too expensive isn\'t very intelligent. I know you can figure this out on your own.
or at least go into great detail to why you think they are too expensive.
I bought the wheel for GT3 and I would\'ve gladly paid $150 for it if they asked, simply because I\'m an ethusiasts and its more then worth it to me.
Now you do know the difference between rumble vibration and force feedback. Maybe you\'re just confusing the 2 different types of steering wheels because the whell I bought today was worth every penny
-
So, does the force-feedback work like the ones in the arcade? How does it differ?
-
similiar to the arcades just not as over powering.
I have barely gotten to play with it so I can\'t give you a true review but I can\'t wait till I\'m a week into GT3 and really getting into the game with the wheel
-
I\'m only buying the HDD if some great games decide to make decent use of it.
I probably won\'t buy the steering wheel, simply because I have no where to put it. I\'m also not too big a fan of racing games, so the wheel would go to waste rather quickly.

ddaryl, you may have seen some of my other posts on it, but if you have or would have a desire to rent it, Nascar HEAT 2002 plays great with Logitech\'s wheel in the interim wait for GT3. HEAT has a fantastic & clean "in car" view that hands down was flat out designed for steering wheel over joypad use.

I\'ll have to try it, actually my step-son I believe has it. He may have 2001 though
but I\'ll have GT3 1st thing in the morning.

I\'m really interested in reviews from you guys with the steering wheel. I am very tempted to buy one, but this is really the only game I will probably ever own that will use it so it really needs to be an experience.

While I didn\'t know the exact feedback you meant, when I say too expensive, I mean more than I will pay. If you want to spend a ton of cash on a wheel, or unnecessary HDD, be my guest. There\'s very little value imo in these 2 products. If I need realistic steering wheel action, I\'ll hop in a car. I don\'t need faster loading games either. If you find value, great. Get em. To me neither peripheral is worth the price of admission in terms of added enjoyment. Despite my lack of enthusiasm for GT3, I\'ll probably get it eventually. But it\'s not a experience that\'s worth $150 to me...
-
well then Krimson
then I am not nuts, I just have a different opinion.
as for the Harddrive. I might get it but not if the only thing it offers is faster loading times. There are tremendous advantages to having a HD but since SOny didn\'t include it with the system at launch it remains to be seen if Devs can implement enough of these advantages to warrant a purchase.
I\'m interested but only if games truly take advantage of it.
Gaming is a hobby and I\'ll invest heavily for quality experiences.

No, not actually nuts. I said IMO you were nuts. But that\'s just coming from my perspective of not caring about said peripherals.

Just ignore Krimson. He\'s just a Newbie that is enjoying getting under everyones skin today for some reason.

Oh, thank you mister psychic! Sorry, nothing would make me happier than me agreeing with others. But it just doesn\'t seem to happen a lot...
