Well I am sitting here watching Battlefield Earth for the first time.
Allow me to say,
"Oh my."
It\'s no wonder that only two movies got more votes as the all time worst movie in the history of the world.
I am watching it in all it\'s HD glory which makes it look and sound great, but my god someone please hand me an ice pick!!!

Told ya! :D

Darnit! Now I have to go see this movie to experiance the badness of the whole thing. I can\'t. . . not. . . watch!
Is this messed up or what?
I\'m sure I\'ll be adding my opinion within the next couple of days. :(
-
We probably watched the same broadcast. HBO right?
My question is did they really expect this movie to be a success? It is so awful and don\'t get me started on the barbarians learning to fly harriers overnight.

I thought everyone liked Tomb Raider?
-
The really sad thing is, John Travolta, being full of himself, was ready to make a sequel because he thought the movie was so good!
You gotta love it though.

That book was way to good to have a sucky movie, but somehow it did. And they changed the story in stupid incredible ways. The ending wasn\'t anything like the book. I haven\'t seen Tomb Raider, maybe I will...just to see how bad it was. Actually I think the worst movie ever was Godzilla 2000. Remeber that...? Ughh *shrugs* that was scary...:sconf:

GASP!!!!! You guys HATE Battlefield Earth?
My God, that is one of the most entertaining pieces of sh!t I have ever seen in my life.
Everything from the costumes, to the acting and ESPECIALLY the retarded story (complete with a contradiction every 10 seconds) makes this movie a complete riot!
I actually watched it in the theatre and the first 40 mins were so bad my friend and I were going to leave (half of the theatre already had), but we had paid so we decide to tough it out and soon the movie got so bad to the point where we (and whomever was left in the theatre) were laughing at the entire movie.
How can you not laugh at the stupidity of the scene where Travolta shoots the cows legs off and tries to act all bad ass! LMAO Or what about when he sends the three humans into a bloody blizzard, and when the pick Rats to eat he exclaims;
"That MUST be their favourite food, they could have picked ANY, but they picked that!"
My only disapointment is that Travolta doesn\'t have an audio track on the DVD because I would love to hear him talk over the movie pretending to himself and the viewer that the movie is good.
STUPID MAN-ANIMALS!!! :D
I hope they make a sequel (in all honesty) I will be there on opening day.
On a side note: Since L.Ron Hubbard invented Scientology, and John Travolta is a scientoligist (that\'s his religion) when Johnny boy is hanging out with L.Ron does he tell people that he\'s "just hanging out with God"? :)

I loved the book, it was long, but a very good read.
Too bad Hubbard has this Scientology crap hanging over his head, because i think he was very underrated as an author. IMO.

Yes, I have watched that horrible garbage as well.
...and yes, it IS hilarious. :D

That scientology crud is pretty scary...wouldn\'t touch it with a 39 1/2 foot pole (inside joke if you get it).

THE BOOK IS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS BETTER THAN THE MOVIE

Especially CONGO, I read the book first, should have never watched the movie. The only thing that was the same was the people, and the apes, oh, and the trees. Yeah, that\'s it.
-
Congo did suck. I think I only watched half of that one.
One thing in BE that I just did not get and I guess it was style.. In the mall scene where you are first introduced to travolta that whole action scene is done with no audio effects. Um, can you say, DID NOT WORK! I have to be honest though, I only watched the first 45 minutes the first time and my wife finished the bad boy. She also mentioned about them learning to fly jets like that. I watched the ending last night. UGH.. What a piece of shizit!!!

I have only read really bad reviews... And now this... I think I will rent it :)

I can\'t belive that you people haven\'t brought up Hackers,it the worst POS out there.
The only part of Battlefield Earth that I found entertaining was when they thought rats were human animal\'s favourite food
