Title: The Final Fantasy Pattern, why FFX will not likely suck

AKA FFP, there is a long standing pattern in the FF world.. i\'ve been following the series since its birth, and I Have to say its very odd how it fits so well.

Here it goes:

The pattern goes as follows:

A - Revolution in Graphics and Gameplay
B - Something New, New Ideas
C - Better Graphics, the best of what has worked. The best (arguably) of the 3


They fell under:

A - 1,4,7
FF1 - Definitely a Revolution in Graphics and Gameplay. Never been done in such a way before. It was what started it all.
FF4 - First SNES RPG, introduced new elements and gameplay from the previous 3. Once again fits nicely.
FF7 - Need I explain this one?
FF10 - The recent Famitsu review is showing the pattern to hold true. We already know FFX is a revolution in Graphics, and it looks like gameplay too.

B - 2,5,8

FF2 - Probably never played it, I have and it was different then 1. They tried something new, but it was an ok game.. thankfully the series continued.
FF5 - Job System.. and that’s all that needs to be said
FF8 - They tried using modern characters, and the draw system
FF11 - Its going to be an online game..

C - 3,6,9

FF3- Never released here also, I thought it was the best of the series. Decent NES graphics
FF6- The best of the series by far. Better graphics and refined gameplay.
FF9- Better graphics, and refined gamplay. I thought it was the best of the 3.
FF12- Not much is known, but it should continue the long standing pattern.

Final Fantasy 10 is looking to be an A game
A Revolution in Graphics and gameplay

I think I may have posted something like this before, but the FFX reviews out (3 1 point from perfect reviews) show this pattern to still hold true.

I\'m gonna have to say that I agree with you. I just hope that FFX does not disappoint. And after seeing the FF movie earlier today, I am even more anxious for FFX. :)

I was thinking the same way Chrono, it seems like make a pattern...  

3 days and 46 minutes away from being released in Japan :)

I DON\'T agree because patterns are just stupid and silly you can\'t judge yet, but i see where your coming from..

I think you could say FF7 is a cross between a and c also ffx would be in a-b  (they have new battle,level up system and world map and camera things and character swapping NOT to mention the water element...phew!)

BTW FF9 sux!! :laughing:
