I\'m not going to find the quote, but today I read some Square guy saying along the lines of "We\'re very excited about Gamecube" and then continuing on about the talked-about online Final Fantasy game.
With Yamauchi retiring soon, I wonder if Square might spread back to the Nintendo systems like they did in the past?
I\'m sure this topic has been discussed already, but it just popped up again on a couple sites in light of the new comment.
What\'s more is the growing speculation that Sega is pushing Nintendo right into the online part of town, opening the door (cracking the door?) wider for Square\'s multi-console idea.

It\'ll be a good thing for them both. They left on some bad terms, hopefully this next gen. of consoles can bring them back together!

Bah **** Square. It\'s a profitable move for both Nintendo and Square, but since therir game in the last few years have been utter crap, I could care less about what games they put out on GameCube. Hopefully times will change and they\'ll start developing quality software soon. :)

Gotta disagree with you on that one. Vagrant Story and FFVII are in my Top 10 games of last generation. Vagrant story is one of the best games of all time IMO.

Damn I forgot about Vagrant Story, I absolutely loved that game. It\'s probably my fav PSX game followed by RE:1. It\'s better than FF7 IMO. Silly me.

Congrats on your 2000th post Jumpman... and I guess my 100th post too.

"That certainly is a possibility," Sakaguchi said, when asked about Final Fantasy XI appearing on the GameCube and the Microsoft Xbox. "In fact, executives at Square are very enthusiastic about Nintendo. Square is moving into online games. Final Fantasy XI, which will be released next year, will be a fully online game. To make that work, you have to transcend hardware. If we want to do financially well online, we need to exist across all consoles."
So basically, FFXI will be coming to every platform? If so, then I have to ask, if the online/every system strategy is extremely profitable, don\'t you think they\'re likely to continue it with the rest of their games? I mean, FFXII will have non esential online aspects right? Might they make the game thats so far off include a bit more online? And just keep being multiplatform? I ask only because Square is a whore, they churn out quite a bit of crap, cause they know their name sells. (I\'m not saying its all crap either, just some of it...).

Uh, Brave Fencer Musashi was excellent.:)
It\'s ENTIRELY up to Nintendo whether Square gets on the Cube. A certain someone in charge of Nin needs to pull the big "stick of grudge" out of his ass.

One of my few favs that Squares made. To bad that\'s not the norm...
I agree about that loudmouth Nintendo guy, but who knows if that stick will ever get removed? :D

Well, if that stick gets out, then Metroid could be canceled because of Retro Studios. Or better yet:
Cancel Retro Studios:D
