We should be allowed to discuss games for any system in the Main Forum, not just PS2. Of course, if there\'s a comparison of systems involved, then it goes in Console Debating, but otherwise we shouldn\'t have to go to Off Topic.
I mean, if someone is giving a review of Paper Mario, they should be allowed to do that in the Main Forum. If someone is comparing Paper Mario to Final Fantasy IX, then that might also be in the Main Forum. But if someone is comparing the abilities of the N64 vs. the PS2 to have good RPGs (I know I worded that incorrectly), then that goes in Console Debating. I say this because the N64CC Forums allow you to discuss any system in the Main Forum.

Jeez dood, it\'s like being a guest in someone\'s house man, they do things their way. If ALL games were discussed in the Main forum, it would be way too cluttered.

No. Off Topic = not video-game related, Main Forum = all consoles. That\'s what N64CC does, and it doesn\'t matter what the rest of the site is about. If you had read the thread more closely, you would have seen one person agree with me.

OneGig, your forgetting a very critical point- this IS NOT N64CC, this is PSX2Central. We don\'t go by the same rules as there place, hence, why we don\'t discuss other consoles in the main forum. Don\'t be so pessimistic about changing.
If you want to talk about other consoles, then do it here; off-topic. Everyone is immuned to this now, this is where we discuss other consoles and usually a lot of people are involved in the discussions. :)
Also, I was going to post a new topic myself before I saw this. :)

I have the same rules regarding other consoles, but since the main forum is Nintendo, I think you\'ll be okay:)

I\'m just going to address a few things.
1) Main forum is a PS2 only forum
2) Off topic is NOT for console debating
3) We have a forum for talk about GC, Xbox and DC. It\'s called (insert drum roll here) console debating.
BTW, there are lots of Xbox forums. Try http://www.msxbox.com or http://www.xboxaddict.com. I\'m sure the same is true for GC and DC forums.

Your points would make more sense OneGig if this were a multi-console site. Of course, the *main* focus of this site is the PS2. Since people come to this site to learn and talk about the PS2 it only makes sense that this the main forum would focus on the PS2.
If someone is giving a review of Paper Mario they should:
A: Post it to a multi-console board
or
B: Post it to the console debate board.
Anything else would blur the focus of this site and its message boards.

Replace "PSX2" with "N64". That argument would be wrong for N64 Code Center in terms of their rules. If you can\'t make the Main and O.T. more like those on N64CC, then divide O.T. into "Consoles other than PS2" and "Not video-game related". I fully understand your point, but this just bugs me that some of the admins are the same between the sites but the rules aren\'t.

It\'s a different site, like you said. Some people here are at places other than N64cc, and the rules are different there. The rules at the IGN boards are different than here, MsXbox\'s rules are different. They are different to suit the needs of different people. It\'s all about finding the place that is right for you. This place is obviuosly right for a lot of people, so there\'s something good about it. Maybe this isn\'t the place for you, but I think you should try it for a while before you decide it isn\'t
There is a place here to talk about everything from Nintendo to Sega from beer to women, from Xbox to Sony and Firefly\'s to SmallLady. All you want is different forum names, which is something you should easily be able to look past.

Why are you talking about banning? You haven\'t done anything to get banned.
And you seem to be following the rules, there\'s no rules against making suggestions, but many people feel that you are insulting them and the forums by your ideas.
You are expected to follow the rules that are posted in the main forum regardless of how you feel so keep that in mind.

I didn\'t think this was too complicated. This is a PS2 site, therefor the MAIN FORUM is for PS2 news / discussions. If you wish to discuss other console news and so on, take it to Console Debating.
How complicated can that be?
