Recently, I have noticed that games are taking a lot longer to boot-up; I end up waiting at the browser/configuration setup screen for an average of 10-15 sec. Not a big deal, really. But there is a definite time discrepancy from when I first purchased the console(Oct.26). I\'ve tested all my games, and they seem to work fine with the exception of SSX, which only reads 10% of the time. I thought the format might have something to do with it, but TTT (CD) loaded quicker; all the other games are DVD rom.
Has anyone had a similar experience? And if so, am about to endure a 6-8 week headache, shell out another $450 CAN, or am I just being paranoid?

Try cleaning the discs. The next thing to check might be the controllers, but that is a rather slim chance.

ok, same problem i had, and its simple to fix.
go to local electronics store and buy a 4$ cd laser lens cleaner.. the problem is that there is dust on the lens. use the cd once and everything will work like new. no 450$ can to shell out....
your welcome.

Many thanks! Let you know what happens.

My friend had this problem three nights ago. We just took it back and got another. It was two days until his warranty was up. So, now he has a new PS2. Happens again, I imagine he\'ll just replace it again and again.
