So we all know that FFXI is going to be online. A new question popping up is: "What about offline play?" (Square has not made an official comment to this date.) From the PlayOnline adds it seems as though the game is set up to require online play in order to progress in the game.
That\'s all roses, but what if I don\'t want to wait for online players to catch up? What if I want to play the game, and complete it, all by myself.
So here\'s the question:
Are you going to buy FFXI at launch if:
It\'s online only or if it\'s online/offline?
If it come with an offline option, I\'ll get it at launch. But if it\'s online only, I probably will wait to judge it\'s online appeal.

Its a game designed for an online world
It should be that way IMO
FFXII will be offline. So its not like Offline is abandoned forever.
FFXI will be designed differently and will lose appeal offline

FFXI will be part online and part offline....... online to meet ppl from around the world, play and conqouer (damn can\'t spell it) as a group..... and offline to increase your lvl alone (if you r alone.. youll get more EXP therefore a faster lvl up) , to gain more items weapons, and also just to roam around the world to know it alot better...... this is wat they r saying at the mo..... but they also say that they might change it if its not a good idea........
FFXII will be have the same genre as FFX.... just an ordinary RPG
as to answer the topic.... i would buy FFXI no matter how itll be designed..... coz im just a big fan of it and if its not really good to play... ill just buy it for collection ...... hehehehe
