Recommend some movies that weren\'t that big of hits but are great. One of my favorites is "187" with Samuel L. Jackson; its a great movie.
-
187? What´s the topic of the film?
-
from amazon.com:
N. Y. C. high school teacher Jackson is stabbed by a student, and relocates to L. A. \'s San Fernando Valley. But conditions at the school there are equally rough, and soon some of his students turn up dead.

LOL... Final Fantasy...
-
Seven Samurai. The director was way before his time. All the movie atributes of today are developed from the styles of this movie.
No director has even come close to beating this director talents and insight.
-
Ghost Dog... heh, I love that name....
-
If you can get Torrente: El brazo tonto de la ley, get it, it´s extra-funny.

seven samari is a very old film, its in black and white, and it was the film that influenced/what the magnifiencent seven was based on

***** please. The movie was dope. I wasn\'t comparing it to any other movies, so I don\'t know why you brought them up. Forrest Whitaker is a much better actor than any old b&W kung fu movie has ever had.... sorry if it was more cerebral than \'chop-chop\'....
-
PI, Traffic, Requiem for a Dream. Just some newer movies.

It was not a kung fu movie, no chop-chop.
Valor, honor, love, comedy, hatred, evil, helplessness, fear, all in Seven Samrai. Don\'t dis what you haven\'t seen. This is the movie that started all movies.

Errr,
Birth of a Nation
Alexander Nevsky
Battleship: Potemkin
The Grand Illusion
etc etc... All predate The Seven Samurai
Actually I love Akira Kurosawa. Do you like Hidden Fortress? I remember seeing Ran when I was a kid and I was totally blown away. As some may recall, The Seven Samurai was remade as The Magnificent Seven, and Yojimbo was remade as A Fistful of Dollars.
One of my favorite directors is Wim Wenders, and my favorite film is Paris, Texas. It\'s beautiful and sadly powerful. Stunning cinematography by Robbie Mueller. Wenders is planning a DVD release later this year! Here\'s one few have seen by Michael Cimino: Year of the Dragon. It\'s so cool.
Oh yeah, I\'ve got to say this: Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai is utterly brilliant! Jim Jarmusch is an awesome director. You should all see his other films like Down by Law and Night on Earth and Mystery Train.
-
Well I am gonna quote one from L.I.C. Lock stock and two smoken...you gotta see that....and.....um fight clube if you still have not seen it.....and....Snatch
-
Hmm, I guess I\'m a bit of a movie nut... I\'ve seen almost all the movies mentioned here. :D

I thought this thread was supposed to be about "good movies that people haven\'t seen." Everybody and their grandmother has seen those Guy Ritchie films like Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch.
