Well I loved Killer Instinct. It maybe be my all time best fighter. Just something about ULTRA COMBO and ending with No mercy just brings a tear to my eye. I mean just imagine if nintendo was to make a new KI game it would be so awesome. I probally would devide my xbox loot in half to get gamecube and KI at launch.
I killed all with black orchid. Nobody could beat me. I wish I had killer instinct 1 &2 on arcade right now. I guess the KI series is dead but it was a great fighting series much better than TTT, and Soul calibur. It was more than just button smashing. It took skills. :(

One man\'s "skill" is another man\'s button smashing. Killer instinct was just a mix between button smashing and dial-a-combos. IMO it doesn\'t even compair to TTT or SC, but it was still a very fun game, and I hope they make another.

Well in killer instinct at least you could pull of combos and not just button smash in the other games. I mean how many ppl actually use combos in Tekken? About 5% of the ppl that play the game. Maybe less than that. In KI you just can\'t button smash your way into a victory. I mean when I play tekken and soul calibur I don\'t even look at the move list. I mean you can figure out the moves just bye hitting combinations of buttons. (IMO) Killer Instinct beats SC, AND TTT hands down.
And.....welt...what is your anti-drug:laughing:

That\'s because TTT has so many moves, just about every button combination does a move. :) TTT is obviously a deeper fighting game than KI.
And if you are playing against a decent Tekken player, you will not have a chance by just pressing buttons. Even Eddy, the button smasher king of Tekken, is easily stopped by someone with a little experience.

Well I don\'t think so..I mean combos don\'t matter in tekken. All that matter is who hits the buttons the fastes. I just don\'t think tekken is that great of a fighter(IMO) It\'s so popular because it is very easy to learn and does not take that much skill to win. I mean look at VF it is not as popular as many other fighters but ppl consider it to be the best. One reason it is not that popular because it requires you to execute moves in order win. And you have to learn the moves you just can\'t press combo\'s of buttons.
I think soulcalibur is much easier to learn than TTT. Both figthers are packed with shinning graphics and reletively easy movies that anyone can pick up just bye hitting all the buttons and moving the d-pad. They are fun and easy to learn fighter. But I don\'t consider them to be deep fighters.

Combos are a HUGE part of Tekken. Not the 10 hit dial-a-combos (Those only work against scrubs :)), but the combos you make up yourself. A Tekken player without combos is like a car without an engine -- crappy.

Yet neither game really matches up to Street Fighter, in my opinion. Though, I did hate the KI series.
-
Yeah, Street Fighter is the best 2d fighter. In second place is Mortal Kombat, and in third is KI.
-
Well It depends on what streetfighter your talking about L.I.C. because all of them where not that good. But sf is surely the best. And IronFist I don\'t see how you can put MK as the second best 2d fighter. I just don\'t think mortal Kombat was better than KI. The only street fighter I thought that kicked major ass was sf2 and the sf2X or something I can\'t not remember the name of but it was a sf2 that was only in the arcade it never made it\'s way on to a console. It was the one where you could jump to the very top of the screen with characters. Ryu could jump to the top of the screen and throw like 6 fire balls in a row with just doing the move once. It came in the arcade way after sf2 damn I can\'t remember the name but it kicked ass. But it\'s not special editon it was a diffrent sf2 it had a special chip in and that was the best sf game I ever played in life.

Those are chipped Hong Kong versions of the game. They were never an official release by Capcom but an edit by the arcade designers. It was pretty neat, but I\'d easily trade that for the amalgame of Capcom Vs SNK 2 any day of the week.

Like Street Fighter, I grew up with Mortal Kombat. I have always loved it. MK2 and MKTrilogy were the best. I am one of the few people who are actually excited that a MK5 is coming out. :)
