What movies do you wish were on DVD that aren\'t?
Here\'s a quick and short list as I am out the door.
- Back to te Future Trilogy
- Karate Kid Trilogy (the 4th junk doesn\'t count - and yes I like the movies) (I\'ve seen the first one on DVD but not the rest.)
- Indiana Jones Trilogy
- SW Trilogy (eventually we\'ll get them)
- Akira (well it\'s happening this Tues)
- Fist of the North Star (there were some prints before Streamline went outta business but I want it remade)
- Golgo 13: The Professional (Maybe Urban Vision will re-make and release?)
- Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie (the real uncut Japanese version. Not the pathetic version Renegade distributed.)
That\'s all I can think of for the moment. Will add more later.
What do you guys want?

I wanna get Tiger and Dragon... and Pearl Harbor. Uhh many time...
-
Here are a few that I wish were available on DVD, in no particular order. This list is of course not complete:
- Paris, Texas [1984]
- Where Eagles Dare [1969]
- Ice Station Zebra [1968]
- The Empire Strikes Back [1980]
- The Commitments [1991] (In a widescreen version)
- Alive [1993]
- Year of the Dragon [1985]
- Heaven\'s Gate [1980] (In an anamorphic version)
- Scarface [1983] (Need a better transfer!)
- Dragonslayer [1981]
- Koyaanisqatsi [1984]
- Powaqqatsi [1988] (They\'re probably waiting until after Naqoyqatsi is completed in 2002 to release all three on DVD)
-
Alive.
IT.
Indiana Jones Trilogy.
-
Major League
Star Wars Trilogy
Indy Jones
The Sandlot
-
I believe we\'ll eventually get Indiana Jones as well - or at least I truly hope so! Spielberg can\'t be so stupid as to let Indy\'s slip. But I believe they\'re re-released on DVD\'s when the new Indy comes into theaters. We might have to wait for a loooong time...

bill and teds exellent advernture
bill and teds bogus journey

Unfortunately...
I read somewhere that there are ongoing negotiations for the Back to the Future Trilogy.. wtf. I want them now.

Please, I have to ask... but I\'m terrified of the answer... Why do you give a damn about a crappy 80\'s kids movie written by Speilberg and directed by Richard Donner of all people? This movie was pure sh1te even when it first came out. It only gets worse with age. You\'re entitled to your opinion; I don\'t mean to give offense and if you like it that\'s fine; but I don\'t understand WHY! Did you see it when it was first released? Is that it??? Some kind of childhood memory?

The cartoons were funny, too.

This isn\'t a movie , but I want this on DVD. I want each series of the Batman (1960\'s version) on DVD. I don\'t care if they have to release them into volumes, as long as each volume has one complete series on it. It would only be 3 volumes, as the show was only on for three years, I believe.
Either way, it would rock.

Steven King\'s "The Shining" Miniseries. Even though I hear it pales in comparison to Kubrick\'s, I am the biggest "Shining" whore in the world, and I completely missed out on the miniseries in 1997:( I HAVE TO SEE THIS.

I\'m a huge "Shining" whore also and I got to see the mini-series on the Sci-Fi channel about a month ago. The mini-series is just terrible man. They totally messed up everything that was great about the book / movie .

I want the 5 episode series of GOLDEN BOY on DVD. There is nothing, tv or movie, that rivals the hilarity of Golden Boy.

Sorry, I forgot about this thread for a couple days... You guys still haven\'t shed any light on this Goonies obsession! As I said before, you\'re entitled to your opinion, but I just don\'t understand it! I\'m assuming most of you are younger than me, but I was a high school senior when this movie was released, so it\'s not like I\'m ignorant of it. It just never had any impact on me whatsoever. I saw it in the theater around 1985, and then cursed the $4.00 I wasted on the ticket... that\'s about it.
I don\'t understand the attraction for you. (I\'m working from memory here...) There are no sex scenes, the visual effects are lousy, the script it boring and not-funny, the soundtrack has crappy eighties music like Cyndi Lauper, and the child actors are annoying as hell. The Goonies was just a rip-off of a much better child adventure film, Explorers starring Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix (also released in 1985). Finding other people younger than me who like this movie is like discovering a secret enclave of tribesmen who worship a Danny Kaye film that fell out of a transport plane. It\'s just so weird. Shouldn\'t some crappy examples of 1980\'s culture be better forgotten? Please help me understand.. ANYONE!
-
explorers is that the one where he makes a bubble thing, then they make it bigger, so they can fit there space ship init. then they go to a alien ship, coz if it was that film was so excellent, ive still got it on video somewhere
-
