This is so awesome, I\'m downloading all 16 right now!  I\'ll be back with a "review."

UPDATE:

words. . .

cannot. . .

describe. . .

.
.
.

But I can try!

First, let me say it took me 15 min. to mop up all the drool.  The funeral scene is the most beautiful I have ever seen.

They talk to each other during the battles!  I bet that take away some of the repetitiveness!

This is the first time I\'ve seen a movie  showing the full summon process, awesome, that\'s all I can say.

The battle music is still the same, and I\'m glad for it.

The battel system seems up-to-par with previous one\'s, that\'s good.

The game seems to have a lot of death and loss, I must say I was moved by some of the clips, even though I couldn\'t understand the language.  The combination of music, and dare I say, body language is truely awesome.

Download each and every one of those clips.  I don\'t care if you have a 14.4 connection.  Do it, now!

You\'ll thank me later.

I\'m gonna go and watch those again!
Title: Fookin\' RANDOM BATTLES
Post by: Lavan on July 25, 2001, 06:33:28 AM
[RANT]

Download the last battle clip - pissed the hell out of me and reminded me of the one annoying thing about the FF series - those stupid random battles. I have no idea why square keeps them when some of their other titles (ie Chrono Cross) don\'t have random battles. In the clip the guy is swimming around (great water effects) and gets into a random battle, he wins, begins swimming and like 5 seconds later he gets into another random batte....so friggin annoying - even to watch.

[/RANT]

The graphics are excellent.

I prefer the Random battles rather then anythign etls. If they removed the random batles and made it like Chrono Trigger or Zelda I would do like I usually do in those games. Just walk around all od hte enemies.

well, i thik they have their reasons for everything, i think the reason they have random batlles is because if there was not, people would always try to avoid them and later on in the game u would be to weak to move on because  u are lacking the levels and experience points that u missed out on.... just my opinion:)

Yeah, but really that would be the gamer\'s fault - they could simply have characters say earlier in the game; "Hey [insert name] you should fight a lot of battles so that you can build up your experience points" or something along those lines - at least that way you can build up your character at your own pace - I hate when you already have a strong character and just want to progress through the story but have to wade through a truckload of silly random battles.

No, no, no, without random battles the entire system would have to be changed.  Without random battle there would be much fewer battles, so more powerups would have to be given, etc.  Plus, it\'s a lot better when you\'re stats are really low, and your hearts pounding, and your thinking, "If only I can make the next 4 steps, I\'ll be clear" and having no idea if those steps will lead to victory, or death.

Like it or not, random battles is[/i] Final Fantasy.

People don\'t know what they have till it\'s gone.  Most FF fans would be dissapointed if the random battles were taking out of the game.

But, getting back to the topic at hand.  Those movies are amazing.  FFX really shows what the ps2 can do.

i agree ! i know sometimes random battles piss me off ! but i don\'t wanna play a FF without em !

and yes i played Chrono Cross and finished it and yes it is great ! but lets all face the truth ! Chrono Cross is not FF ! and i like my random battles as they are !

I would pay an extra $50 for the game to put the random battles back in. It makes it more fun for me. And it really isn\'t 4 steps, it\'s more like 20, or 10 seconds. :)

Here are 5 FFX Japanese commercials!  Most of us have seen "c" before, but all the rest are new to me!

A:  http://www.thegia.com/features/cm/010726/ffxa.mpg
B:  http://www.thegia.com/features/cm/010726/ffxb.mpg
C:  http://www.thegia.com/features/cm/010726/ffxc.mpg
D:  http://www.thegia.com/features/cm/010726/ffxd.mpg
E:  http://www.thegia.com/features/cm/0...ffxdigicube.mpg

This is from the same site that I found the other Japanese commercials.  (I made a thread in Off-Topic).  I think I\'ll add these to that thread too!  (Just in-case someone misses them listed here.)
