" The version demonstrated was extremely early and wasn\'t running on final GameCube hardware yet. The programmers were busy plunking away on the final kits back in Canada, apparently they couldn\'t even spare one. When you combine a really early game with provisional development hardware it shouldn\'t come as a surprise that SSX Tricky wasn\'t in the best shape. Between the PS2 and Xbox versions, the GCN build was the earliest and looked the worst out of the batch. The PS2 naturally had optimizations because the whole SSX engine was designed on the console, so it had a much smoother framerate and looked much like the original SSX. The Xbox version being farther along looked almost identical to the GameCube version but had a slightly more stable framerate and highly detailed character models."

don\'t expect teh xbox and GC versions to be miles ahead of the ps2 version, its a plain cheap port. Nuff said...

Not on final hardware yet ???????
I thought that was an Xbox thing

No, final GC dev kits have been out for a while now; just that there aren\'t enough of\'em.

Is it me or does there seem to be abit of a framerate issue on the Xbox:confused:

I wonder if that button comment about the buttons being too close together on the xbox will effect all games.
I\'m sure it would during fighting games where you have to press a lot of buttons quickly to pull off combos
Sorry, just skimmed through the article and it didnt comment on the buttons. I saw on IGN the other day that they complained about the buttons being too close together on the xbox so sometimes you would press a wrong button by mistake.
But I\'m sure a third party would come out with other controllers without that problem if it does turn out to be a problem
