Title: Best ending of all time.
Post by: on July 26, 2001, 03:32:31 PM: Name the one game, no matter what console, that had the absolutely best ending of them all.

I\'ll probably change my mind, but for now I have to say:

I just finished Onimusha ( Europe y\'know ) a few days ago,
and it struck me that it\'s got kind of a bad ending. Yeah, Princess
Yuki and Yumemaru are saved, but you get to know that Kaede
dies 14 years later, Nobunaga DOES conquer and finally Samanosuke..... well I guess I can assume from the end cutscene
that he get\'s lost in the demonworld. In other words he winds up
dead.

It really did something to me. I got a faint feeling of depression
after seeing that. I mean, the whole game you try to keep this
guy\'s healthbar as full as possible, but no matter what you do
he dies at the end anyway. Maybe I got a bit attached to Samanosuke. "As if he were a close friend" kind of way.
Aren\'t there rumours going on that Snake dies at the end of MGS2. :crying:
Are sad endings becoming a trend. ( Lara Croft died in part 4 didn\'t she ?)

But to come back to the good endings.... though one... maybe
Mickey mouse - Castle of Illusions on Sega Mastersystem 2.
I usually find videogames\' endings suck somewhat.

Ajoh : the MGS \'meryl lives ending\' = way tooooooo corny imo !

Chrono Trigger was classic.

NBA Live 95 when I won the Championship and I got some cheesy gold cup thingy, ahhh, good times.

Lara will never die, silly.

Best ending=I vaguely remember, but I thought Chrono Trigger had an awesome ending. FF7 and Vagrant Story had good ones too.

Okay, so its not the actual ending. Bite me. :nut:

Post by: Evi on July 27, 2001, 03:17:53 PM: The ending in Final Fantasy VIII is the best I\'ve seen. I even busted out the popcorn and pizza and watched it with my friends. It was like a half an hour long (don\'t think I\'m strange...;)). Then the Metal Gear Solid ending where Meryl lives (a lot less scary than the Otacon ending...).
