The review was not complete it just had the score no explaination for extermination\'s review

What imcompetence on IGNPS2\'s part. Coming soon? What the ****? They give some pretty poor writen reviews there, I\'m sure they put something together in 5 minutes like they usually do.
On a side note, they gave it a 6.9! *giggles*
-
Gamespot gave the game a 7.1. Decent scores. Which IMO, it appears to be a renter at least and borderline game worth buy. Though I\'ll be waiting for RE:CVX (at least its a game I can play before I go off to College).
-
the game looks a bit PSX but the gameplay rocks hard, far better than RE.
-
Is it just me or has IGNs standards gone to a new level..
Much lower level..
The GT3 review sucked BAD!
-
Nope, it\'s not just you. Ever since the Insider started up, I\'ve been less and less impressed. I don\'t know if money got so tight they\'re scrimping or maybe the guys just figure their jobs are hanging by a thread so why bother. Could just be understaffed too, who knows? Whatever, not the good ol\' days, that\'s for sure.
I was thinking that same thing, Ray, not much more than PSX graphically but a blast to play, excellent control scheme too. Cool gun, can\'t wait for some upgrades!
-
Weird. IGN just isn\'t near as good as they use to be.
Either way, I played it soon as it came out and personally I thought it was more like a 4.0 ..But, thats just me.
-
ya..... ign sucks azz...... end of story.
-
 Ajoh I totally agree. IGN is starting to slow down more each and every time I go there. And my computer is slow and the website usually kicks me of the Internet, so IGN is just going down.
-
One thing I hate about IGN now are those stupid annoying ads. When I click on a link, sometimes it goes to an ad with yet another link to the story. Almost every story now has at least on ad in it. The ad for Planet of the Apes keeps popping up. Another ad, the one that allows you to drag and move, sometimes when I drag it, I couldn\'t get the mouse to stop it. Really, really annoying.
The only thing I like about IGN now, well, its still a good place to get news. The reviews I could care less now.
-
That score was pulled from someones Azz, how the fu@k do they justify this? hmmm.. seems someone was lazy, or understaffed.
-
I dunno. I still quite like IGN but they do seem to have gone down in standards a little.

I don\'t even bother reading reviews anymore. What\'s the point if they don\'t even bother writing them anymore? I went out and rented this one for myself, and here\'s my early thoughts in a nutshell:
It\'s a decent game in the same vein as Resident Evil. It has way too many similarities for me to not make that association. It does make a few improvements. Some of the features I liked was the Battery Pack (you use it to operate the Save Points, open doors, work elevators, etc.), the weapons system (you have the same weapon through the game, but ou get upgrades for it), the weapon refill stations (self-explanatory), infections (you get bit enough, and you turn into a zombie too), and I thought the controls weren\'t too shabby either.
On the bad side, they\'ve added jumps. If you missed the jumps, you instantly die and have to start over at the last save point. This might work in Mario 64, but in a survival horror game, it\'s just unnessecarily frustrating. You can easily lose 15 minutes like that, just being a little careless. I also thought the little slug guys were just too damn annoying.
I haven\'t actually beaten the game yet, but so far I\'d say that this is a great rental game. Unless you really want to buy a new PS2 survival horror game right now, I\'d hold out for Silent Hill 2 or Resident Evil CV.
-
I liked the inclusion of the jumps, a bit less stale than every other game in the genre that way, I thought.
-
There\'s a review up there now.
-
gamespot.com gave Extermination a 7.1 so you know gamespot isn\'t too far behind ign.....
-
I heard it is a short game, i don\'t like to buy short games, even if they look good.

What? You mean the PS2 is out in Australia already? Will wonders never cease. :p

well i thought it was excellent id give it a 8 or higher 9 maybe, the graphics are quite good, but copered to mgs the look less impressive. i found jumping worked well, all the jumps were easy, dont think i ever didnt make a jump, onlyif i walked off the edge by accident, but theres only a few places you can fall to your death, i found it added new gameplay to it

I have borrowed my friends copy and yet to finish it. The game just seems average in every aspect. It has alot of potenial but never uses any of it.
-
well i wasn\'t expecting much from this game and i can see it hasn\'t delivered great things
i mean its not like this was an expected great game - look at what it has to be compared to and i am talking about same genre - thats why it got the score it did
