What did people do before Internet? I can´t remember :)
-
Yup back in the day people played outside.. Now people play on their computer pretending to be outside..
:sleepy:
-
They read books. Went outside.
-
Thats a very good point. What did people do ?
I\'ve *only* had the net for a good 5yrs, but i\'ve had my PC longer. I guess rather than net time, I played more on the PC and consoles, watched more TV etc, but I can\'t imagine a time where I actually play more PC and games consoles and watch more TV than I do now. ;) I maybe even seen the outdoors.
-
Played my Nintendo, with out help guides, with the internet to ask questions about games, did not read reviews....
-
I have been Using the net since AOL 1.5 and CompuServe.
Back before then, I played baseball for a team, golfed alot, played alot of pickup football, basketball, and baseball.
Back then, outside was cool.

The internet is rather stupid unless you\'re using it for a good reason...and pr0n isn\'t one of them. I still go outside, it\'s a healthy thing to do. I can\'t be on the internet all day or my eyes become blazing red and I can\'t see straight. The same goes for TV and videogames.

Actually, there was an "internet" before the internet. See, instead of callin an ISP.. you called a BBS. Each node/user connection had to have it\'s own modem, so the really good ones that could allow 5 or more ppl on at once we\'re pretty hard to afford. Usually they were pretty self containted, but ocassionally you could find one with a node dedicated to dialing out to other BBS\'s. This is probably the earliest mode of "surfing" for the general public.
You didn\'t click on links, you hit keys on your Keyboard. Like F for the [F]ile menu. There we\'re no pictures or Flash media.. it was pretty limited to ANSI graphics, PC speaker bleeps, and the ocassional MIDI.
The COOL thing was, that like here.. we all live far apart. Most of us can\'t just jump in our cars and be at another members house in 10 mintues. With a BBS, you can since most of the people online are from your local calling area. Meeting people from Tibet and Indonesia is cool and all... but its pretty much blind luck if you ever come across someone from your area on the net. That sucks.
I tell you what too... there was a whole lot less shyt talkin on BBS\'s too since the person you mouth off to could be living just down the street from you. :)
In fact, those of you in bigger cities probably still have a few in operation... and the "browser" is still built into windows. It\'s called "HyperTerminal".. although I prefer RipTerm over HT anyday.

Before the internet, guys had girlfriends. Thanks to the internet, this does not happen anymore, because nearly all guys are now geeks.
Let us thank the internet for its saving the world from it\'s future population problem from making us all too geeky/ugly to meet a girl. Thank you, internet!

Hehehe...be nice...;) No actually, my aunt met some dude online halfway across the US. He flew down to meet her. They are now married. I don\'t have a problem with girls. A lot of girls (most) go on the internet all the time. I get like 10 e-mails per day from all my lady friends....;) I have to make friggin\' folders in my hotmail for each girl cause they send me e-mail so dang much. There are some geeky, freaky and weird guys out there that stock girls on the internet and whatnot. But you\'re right, a lot more guys had girlfriends back in the day. Yeah, yeah...word up, G...;)

yea the net has it uses but outside stuff is sooo much better
wait a sec its hot outside - down with outside - yay for internet in air conditioned house - whoooo hoooo
but another big yay for gf - they keep me off this danged machine

Internet hasn\'t been part of my life for long. Yes, I got internet about year and two months ago, and I only started using it regularly after my registeration here.
I usually don\'t do much on internet - except come here and read Psx2 game and dvd -reviews, download a demo every now and then etc.
I hardly ever chat - but I promise to be on the psx2-central chat, as I remember the good ol\' chatty-times ;)
But, what did I do before internet stepped into my life? Actually, my life hasn\'t changed much - except that English has become natural language to me - as I used to play a lot on computer and nintendo. I believe I sat much more in front of computer back then. Now I do sports, move a lot, eat healthy etc.
-
BBS as in Bulletin Board System ? Yeah there still around actually. You sometimes see adverts for them in the back of magazines. Calls 50p a minute for some semi nude hotty pics. Don\'t ask me who the hell uses them cause I don\'t know.

Before the internet it was BBS world. It was great. All dial-up. All slow. Forums haven\'t changed in tens of years. They\'ve only changed how you access them.
