I thought it was a great looking movie. I liked the spin they put on the storie. I was very impressed. I was very shocked bye the ending:eek: Tim burton said he did 3 endings to the movie so I hope some how we get to see what other endings he had for the movie soon instead of having to wait til it comes out on dvd. I thought the ending was great. I thought "Marky Mark" was great in it and I would go see it again.

OK so tell me what your theory is on how the apes got to Earth. My theory is that THADE somehow figured out how to work one of the space pods and rode it into the electrical storm back to Earth.

HAHA yeah real spoiler. :laughing: :laughing: I don\'t know I was still amazed how it all came to be. I mean him leaving caused a whole race of smart apes. Tell me this he went to the future right. Why did not anyone from earth go looking for the space ship or the crew?? I mean sure the U.S air force would have sent more ships out to search. But I was shocked that ending seeing that Abraham Lincoln ape. And seeing all those apes memicking us humans. I don\'t know that could of happen I mean he would have had to go all the way back to the begining of the earth. I was just shocked buy it and I am still trying to figure out how the crew let those monkeys over take them and kill them all. And what was the name on the monkey that showed up at the end in the space ship? I mean where was he at all this time?
EDIT: An as for thade how did he get a ship. marky mark ship was destroyed. And that HE was traped in the other ship and nobody body but mark could open it. So I have no clue how he went back and change the planet earth. The ending confuses me. I mean before he father died he had just found out that they where merly just slaves of humans. So I can\'t wait to see what happens in part2 because I am still confused on this ending.

I didn\'t think it was all that great. The ending confused me too. He went to the future where there were apes, and then he went backward in time, and there was still advanced apes. That was lame...

Aside from the ending, which made no sense, it was great. Perhaps, should a sequel be made (this one will probably bring in enough money to merit making one), they\'ll explain it better there..

I\'m not for sure that when M.Mark went foward in time that he landed on Earth.
Don\'t get confused about the Search and Rescue, QuDDus, the ship on the ape planet was M.Mark\'s space station. They had gone into the elec. storm and apparently gone to a different time than MMark. The apes they were training evolved into what came to be the time MMark landed.

The thing is, Thade alone couldn\'t have made such a huge revolution or anything like that, to where Apes overthrow humans. There would need to be more than just Thade there to pull those things off.

I know all the rob, but he went into the future. Ok he must have been in that time hole for a long time because bye time he got to the planet. His ship had already come looking for him and had crash and started a planet of apes. Now how monkey evolved into apes in a short period of time is confusing. Becasue they where already in the year 2000 and something and he did not go all that far if you look on the time gage when he first went and crash on the ape planet. It was far but not far enough where monkeys could have evolved into apes. WHAT i am saying time went fast while he was in that electric storm because that is the only way to explain how he friends where already there.
Second there is noway for thade to have gotten on anyship.. markys ship was destroyed and thade was traped in a ship that had no fuel. Now some ppl have said that marky went back into time to an alternate period. That is the only way to explain the thade thing. Or else he actually went in the future twice or something. But he could have not been on earth he had to be on alternate earth in some alternate universe.
I think the story is quite complex and that is how they wanted it and it gives you something to think about and I think you have to see it twice and catch little things u missed the first time because there has to be something in the story that explains a little more.
Like when thades father died and he told thade about how the monkeys where under the humans orginally. tHOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO. SO when marky went into the future the year he left and was a different year then when he went back a second time. Now from what I remember at the end when get on the ship and went back in time it looks like he actually went back to a different time than the original time that was when he first left. I got to see it again because the whole time thing plays a big part in the movie.

When MMark goes thru the elec storm the first time you see his digital calendar stop at 300 (or was it 200) years in the future. Onboard the space station (Oberon?) when they detected the storm remember they said they were picking up every communication ever transmitted from the Earth.
When the space station Oberon entered the storm they were sent to a random time which turned out to be earlier than the date that MMark jumped to.
On the way back thru the storm, we see MMark\'s digital calendar roll backwards but we never see it stop, so we can\'t be for sure about what time he went back to.
I have to believe that at least THADE made it to Earth otherwise, how could his face and name be on the Lincoln Memorial?
But that\'s just what I think and this is all so wide open for a sequel.

Yeah it is so wide open for a sequal. I just don\'t see how thade could have gotten to earth. I say maybe mark went back to future again and ended up on the same planet but it could have evolved into earth. Seeing how they where trying to spoof the whole evolution from apes-humans. That is what I guess he went farther into the future and the planet had evolved into earth. I say thade could have convinced his friend to join him again and kill all the humans and some how get thade out. Because there is noway for thade to have gone on a spaceship marks was destroyed and the apes where not even smart enough to understand the technology they did not even now how to use the weapons.
And rob it\'s looks to be that marky had only gone like 200 years or more into the future when he originall left as I recalled the time gage on the pod he left in did not go all that far. Someone told me he should have stayed on the planet and had a threesome with the ape and the human-girl seeing how both had the hots for him:laughing:

I hated the original but I love Tim Burton. So, I had high hopes for this movie. I went and saw it yesterday and I must say I really disliked it. I would list all the reasons, but there was to many. I can see why some people liked it , it just wasn\'t my type of movie though.

Well...I was rather disappointed with this one, too. The theater was packed, though...it was rediculous. I never like remakes. There are rare cases when the remake is actually better than the original (rare cases).

I guess it is all a matter of opinion... I mean I liked it very much.. and I can\'t wait for the sequal.

It\'s been so long since I saw the original I was going to Hastings to try and rent it but they\'re all out.
I bet it\'s out everywhere. One thing about re-makes is they jump-start revenues of old movies.

Everyone is so confused. \'Cept for EmporerRob, he\'s got it.
Just came back from the movie.
SPOILER:
2029, man and chimp go into the electic storm. Both go into the future (somewhere past the year 4000), chimp ends up showing at the end, 5 or so days after the man. The research stationalso goes into the storm, but travels into the past, so when the apes "retaliated" they had over 2000 years to evolve. Which is plenty of time, \'cause of their genetic manipulation and all.
So then the man saves humans, blah, blah, blah, he then flies off, to sometime around the year 2000, to an Earth that had been altered.
Assumingly the evil ape Thade decided to teach himself how to operate one of the pods (at least two should be on the crashed space station). He powered one of them with the nuclear core, and flew off into the electrical storm (I bet the trined chimp showed him how). He ended up on Earth with advanced weapons with a couple other apes during the time of Lincoln. Took control, and used the database of the pod to "mock" human history.
Well, that\'s what I got from it. Any opposing opinions?
EDIT: ABOUT THE RE-MAKE SHPEAL:
This movie followed the book much more closely than the original movie. Also in this movie the apes were less advanced (in the old one they lived in stone houses) and the humans were more advanced (in the old one the humans didn\'t have the ability of speech).
I see this as more of a different version of the story, rather than a simple re-make. It\'s much better than a re-make.

It was the worst movie I have seen all summer and I saw Pearl Harbor... twice. \'nuff said.
