Yes I bought a projection tv from some pawn shop guy my brother knows..only sold it too me for 1100bucks it is a 60" toshiba project TV. Took it home works fine and decideI was going to hook my ps2 up to when someone tells me that you can\'t do it. I said yes you can they said it is in the book...and it does say that ps2 can harm projection tv\'s....I mean has anyone hooked there ps2 up to a projection tv. And if you have did it harm it?? I think this sucks...

Have projection screen TVs -- you will be fine...
Its because on older video games and on older projection screen TV\'s a constant image from the video game would cause the image to burn into the screen...
So don\'t worry about it dood... You will be fine..
(Kirath and all related property is not responsible for weird acts of god and is not held liable for any adviced taken and used incorrectly)

Just make sure you don\'t pause your game and leave it on for long periods of time. It should be fine, plud you only paid $100 for it, so it\'s worth the risk.

Proj TV\'s
They use high intensity CRT\'s (Cathode Ray Tubes). One for each primary color (Red Green Blue). These crt\'s are coated with phosphor, thats what gives the electrode beam a "mirror" to bounce off of.
Since it is such an intense beam still or static images will diminish the phosphor at that point; the smaller the point the more intense.
In days of old when videogames had minimal graphics consisting of large blocky objects this could be an issue. Now games fill the entire area with vibrant color and detail, so burning is non existant. It\'s like watching TV or movies.
You never want a still picture lingering on the screen EVER, no matter if it\'s a game or a paused movie. It would literally have to be there for HOURS for it to become an issue.
If you must pause your game/movie for more than 10 minutes or so, just turn the TV off (and leave the console/DVD/VCR ON)
I used to repair projection units. Both LCD and CRT types:) Interesting factoid: The Blue burns quickest, then green, then, red.

Eh? It\'s just the image that \'burns\' onto the screen, it doesn\'t burn into your eyes. ;)

I know I may have only paid 1100$ for but that is a lot of money for me. And I can\'t even pause a game playing it..wow didn\'t know that...And reading the manual it says you should not the touch the tv screen...or...play games with high resolution on it.. Also I have the tv hooked up to a entertainment system..and I am havig ps2 problems...ok if I unplug my sterio system and run my ps2 through those av jack I can\'t get the ps2 to play..for some reason...now if I run my ps2 through my dvd player it comes on...but I get know sound...
Do you think I would have been better saving my money and buying a HD projection tv?

Sounds like more trouble than it\'s worth. Sorry about that...:( If something blows up.......

Sorry about the caps, but this is a must... DON\'T WORRY ABOUT IT!!!!!!
This is from back when there were crappy video games with icons on the screen that stayed there the whole game, blah blah, what everyone else said. You would need your game paused for months on the screen for it to ge burn in.

Why are you unplugging your stereo???? Just plug your PS2 into your stereo in one of the open slots. Do you have VCR2, LD, SAT, DVD, or any other source not being used? Just plug it into that.

With regards to using PS2 it doesn\'t matter. You have the same chance of getting burn in on a projection HD unit. If you are talking about quality and should you have waited because of quality issues for HD, well I have said many times that I don\'t know why anyone would buy a big screen right now that isn\'t HD ready. CBS is broadcasting college football this year in HD. ROCK ON!!!!!!!! At least 3 UF games in HD this year baby!!!
Peace out.
