Some of you posted that your FFC was out ion a faulty disk, well now I\'m "happy" to report that FFT has also suffered from faulty CD\'s. Yep, put it in my PS2, got the "Please insert a PS, PS2 disk," tried it on my sister\'s PS, same thing. I\'ll have to exchange it tomorrow b/c the store just closed.
Don\'t it suck? That\'s two recently released titles sent out on shaddy CD\'s. Good one Sony, I can really depend on you now!
UPDATE: I did some extra testing and guess what? Sony completely forgot to record any files on the disk! It\'s blank! Completely blank! I just bought a $40 blank disk!

You might have bought a blank disk, but they made a cool profit on that sale. ;) :D
-
No stores around me are selling it.
Can I get it anywhere online?
For 19.99?
-
and I thought Dreamcast disks had problems :)
ahh, good ole Square, forever there for me to make fun of them

Unfortunately, we don\'t know, and neither does Square/Sony.
I got this from www.thegia.com:
" Final Fantasy Tactics rerelease defective
[08.01.01] ยป Initial batch of new pressings formatted incorrectly.
The long-awaited Final Fantasy Tactics rerelease arrived for some buyers today; unfortunately, all initial pressings of the new copies are improperly formatted for the PSone. Square is working to address the problem, but has given no date as to when fans can expect a corrected batch."

Doggies eat applesauce to save the O-Zone layer!
Edit: I don\'t know what this is all about, but it doesn\'t belong in the main forum. EmpRob\'s act is enough, we don\'t need another.

yea i am glad i am broke and havent bought either one
means when i finally get the money to buy em i can do it easily and not worry about having a faulty one

Well, I\'ve been back to Media Play, exchanged it for a new one, and it still doesn\'t work! Went back , and exchanged it for store credit. Being the weekend, Sony can\'t make an official statement as to when new games can be sent. I guess we\'ll have to wait for Monday to find out when working copies will be available.

Good thing I still have my original and in perfect condition. Tsk, tsk. ;)
(just kidding - it sucks that something like that would happen)

This is just un-acceptable. I can maybe understand a few bad disc coming out , but a blank disc? How does something like this even happen? Espically after the FFC problems that just happened. I would of thought the quality control at the manufactors would of went up .

I don\'t think it really counts if it is a blank disc, now do you? ;)

I think it means you are really weird and if there was two really weird people on the forum, it would upset the delicate balance we maintain with just one really wierdo.

Yeah but they will eventually sort that. Shouldn\'t be long either.

I think I figured it out. Reports say that the disks were formatted wrong. So when the computer wrote information to the disk, it was never accepted, but the computer actually "thought" it had recorded all the info. Of course for some odd reason quality control didn\'t even test the first batch of games, if they had tested one they would have seen the problem, but as it turns out they didn\'t, and found out too late, when games had already been shipped out. TYhe game got to stores on Friday, and Sony, being the lame people they sometimes are, were too lazy to phone up the stores that got defective disks. With the weekend right after, nobody is in the office to report the problem. I called Sony and the reps don\'t know what I\'m talking about. By Monday afternoon this should be all sorted out.
Just make sure when you buy the game later this week, make sure it isn\'t a copy from the first shipment.
