From CVG :
"The beginnings of worry have spread through the UK industry this morning on the back of the news, with the first finger being pointed squarely in the direction of The Getaway. With a team of around 100 staff and a rumoured budget of around £200,000 a month, Sony Europe seems to be consolidating on the project at the expense of other teams. The game is vastly ambitious and was in no real state to be shown at this year’s E3 in May. Budget for the title is rumoured at £5 million so far.
How many employees have lost their jobs from the Leeds outfit is unlikely to be known for at least two days, but 47 staff were working at the studio yesterday. Expect full official comment and fresh details throughout the day."
So.., what if the Getaway game flops ? They\'ve got a 100 man team behind it, hurry up dudes or are all\'ye mates drinking pints in some greasy London pub ?

This is almost as bad as RETRO Studios. Except that "The Getaway" is an SCEE Project, so there is no one to blame but themselves.

Gee, what a surprise the Getaway was in no condition to show at E3, that\'s because all of the screenshots are fake. I can\'t wait to stick those pics up EGM\'s ass. I remember when they criticized the online community for not believing those pics were real. :D

Getaway is not affected.
They downsized from 5 studios to 3. Downsizing is the flavor of the year you know.
The games that were canned were all UNannounced titles. Let\'s not make a mountain out of this.
