Title: Super NES turns 10!
Post by: Bladez on August 07, 2001, 06:41:59 PM: Believe it or don\'t, in the days before Nintendo 64, the cartridge format wasn\'t considered evil, Square and Nintendo were best buddies, and now-blase effects such as scaling and rotation were considered state-of-the-art. 10 years ago this month, to be exact-Nintendo was prepping its Super NES for U.S. release. Aug. 1991 packed 2 controllers and the amazing Super Mario world, the $200 Super NES seemed poised for success. Well it did for awhile and a long with the Sega Genesis it slowly died. Wow after all that I can\'t believe it\'s been here for 10 years.

Just thought you guys/girls would like to know.:)

It does seem to be older. But the regular NES came out in the 80\'s.

I was 7, too...but I had a Nintendo 8-bit only years before that. I never owned an SNES (don\'t hate me...;) ).

I remember when the Family Channel (remember them?) had a contest, every day some logo would flash on the screen and you were supposed to call, and if you were the 9th caller, you won a free SNES with Mario World. I was utterly, absolutely convinced I would win, and like a schmuck, every day for three months I called every time, with sincere knowledge I would win, and I never did. Four years later I actually went and bought one:)
