Taken from the Gaming-Age forums. What do you guys think? Not as sleek and cool as the PS2 box; but it will get the job done. :D

Give them time. There are more secrets to be revealed at SpaceWorld. There are some rumors of a handle for the gamecube handle. Lets cross our fingers.

Somethings not right with that box!!!

WTF!?!

Isn\'t the cube...well.. a CUBE? Isn\'t it like 8 inches squared?

Look at the black side of the box. Now is the cube has equal dimensions on all sides, that would mean that the depth of the black portion of the box is equal to, or slightly larger than the depth/length/height of the cube (8")

That said. That means that the rest of the box (height, and length) is Waaaaay outa wack (proportion).

You could fit like FOUR FREAKING CUBES IN THAT BOX!!! Seeing as the box is a rectangle you would have to go by the smallest dimension (the black side) and figure from there.

Well they have to put in the controller and the cords too.  That still doesn\'t justify the box\'s shape, but that\'s the only thing I can think of.

I don\'t know about you guys, but it would seem better for me to have a handle on the box. You could carry the system and the games/perphirals in a bag in the other hand. Saves time. Sometimes you guys just seem to bash something for being a plus for something.

IF YOU DON\'T WANT THE HANDLE, RIP IT OFF THE BOX!!!:D :D :D

Looks fine to me. I don\'t need a super-sleek-and-cool box. Once I install the system, the box goes in the closet. Not like I put it @ my window for display. I also think the handle is convenient. :)

- dm
- end transmission.

This is even worse than the game box designs!

I think that Nintendo should make trangular boxes to put the gamecubes in.  That would be cool.

They should make it a sphere so you can roll it home!
That\'d be so awesome...

I originally thought that, but it\'s not easy to make a cardboard sphere.  So I took the economical route and went triangular.

Maybe a dodecagon would work?

Ummm... doesn\'t the handle substitute as a bag? I mean, people who were buying PS2s had to get a PS2 handle-bag to hold the PS2 box. I don\'t see the problem with a handly really.

The PS2 box is incredibly small, why would you have a hard time with it?? And the gamecube is incredibly small, so I don\'t think the box will be as big as the PS2 box.

Heh, it does look pretty funny, but it is convenient.  It really doesn\'t matter because it is a box after all.

its all about the system ofcourse...
unfortunately..to the ignorant that are just window shopping,  packaging,  and cover art could make a difference....personally i dont like the game cube box at all...hell,  i dont like the art work on most game covers either (cause im an artist myself)...but the game or console should speak for itself...the box shouldnt make a difference.

Your not a stupid Jap, they don\'t care about box art. Get over it. The US version will be totally different.

yea i dont think its bad really

not very flashy or anything just like i expected it to be - although i could care less - the box is gonna just sit up in my closet like all of the other game system boxes - no biggie :)
