Besides Dead or Alive 3, there aren\'t any other fighting games on the Xbox. Of course, Dead or Alive 3 is all most Xbox gamers will probably need but it\'s always nice to mix up hand-to-hand fighting with some weapon-based fighting. Hence, Crave Entertainment has announced Kabuki Warriors for the Xbox. Inspired by classic arcade fighters and traditional Japanese theater, Kabuki Warriors features samurai actors as they strive to astonish audiences with brilliant swordplay and dramatic moves.
"Kabuki Warriors combines the easy-to-play, hard-to-master style of classic fighting games with full 3D models and beautiful special effects," said Holly Newman, Executive Vice President at Crave Entertainment. "The simple, addictive gameplay will combine well with the technical capabilities of Xbox, resulting in an exciting game with beautiful visuals." Taking place during the feudal Tokugawa period of Japan, you play the role of a a Kabuki troupe of warriors, where you pit your skill against other Kabuki warriors on your way to Kyoto, the center of Japanese entertainment. Take part in amazing swordfights and charm the audience with unique dance-like moves - think "Gladiator" with colorful costumes and you get the idea. By trading troupe members for defeated but worthy opponentswill acquire a master company of samurai actors as they travel to Kyoto to defeat the city\'s star troupe. The game will feature 24 different character each specializing in different weapons and techniques, several stages placed in the backdrop of feudal Japan, and a unique gameplay mechanic where audience participation will play a vital role as you fight. Kabuki Warriors will have several modes including Time Attack, Versus, Adventure and Tournament and is scheduled to ship in November 2001. We\'ll keep you updated when we get our first hands-on impressions next month.

What kind of wasteless junk is that?? The developers should be ashamed of themselves. Those are the worst looking backgrounds that I have ever seen...:( I feel ashamed for having to look at this POS game...:(

It looks like crap. Still, its early in development so I won\'t pass *too* much judgement.

Good review of the game, but the author was a little bit off in his statement that there are no other fighters besides DOA 3. There will also be Kakuto-X.
