Title: Konami passes on Spaceworld.

"The largest Japanese third-party says it will make no GameCube announcements at Space World, and is focusing its efforts on the fall TGS."

"We contacted Konami of America today to see what they had lined up for Space World 2001. They told us that Konami would be showing a couple titles for Game Boy Advance at Spaceworld, but there would be no GameCube games shown or announced at all. Furthermore, the company\'s heavy-hitters, such as Hideo Kojima, will not be present at the event."

"The publisher is throwing all its resources into the fall Tokyo Games Show, which takes place just a couple weeks after Space World. They haven\'t ruled out GameCube announcements for that event, but they also haven\'t confirmed any."

Once again this isn\'t a good sign for nintendo one of the biggest 3rd parties is not announcing any games for gamecube.  Konami will be announcing a few gba title, but nothing for gamecube.  Konami who is a strong supporter of sony.  I guess MGS2 isn\'t coming to gamecube, hideo isn\'t even going to be there.:thepimp: :thepimp:

TGS is a few weeks after Spaceworld and it is a lot more important to the Japanese public. So if they want to save their resources and surprises until TGS then more power to them. Capcom isn\'t even showing RE:0 until TGS.

IMO, Nintendo has more than enough secrets and surprises to keep their fans happy until TGS.

No one expects an MGS to be on GameCube till after the Xbox gets their version.

Ps2 has mgs2 for one year or more exclusivtly which means if it did come to xbox or gamecube it would be almost 2 years old. IMO which wouldn\'t be worth coming out with since the game would be so old.:thepimp: :thepimp:

True, but look at Resident Evil Code Veronica for PS2, it\'s been out for Dreamcast for over a year and I already know of lots of people who are getting it. I\'m just making a point that\'s all:D

Xbox is getting a totally different game, NOT a direct port of MGS2. So it won\'t be a two year old game.

SpaceWorld will be mostly the unvieling for Nintendo first party stuff. Developers like Capcom and Konami are holding out for TGS because it is more important to the Japanese, like Gohan said. IT isn\'t really bad news for GC and I personally expected it.

I do doubt GC gets a MGS game - which is fine by me, because I don\'t care for the series at all. I just want to see Nintendo\'s first party stuff (MARIO!) for the GC and GBA.  Oh yeah and something by Capcom called "Resident Evil 0"
:)

It maybe me but i don\'t think we will see any big third party announcess at fall tgs for gamecube...the only thing that will remotely important is the showing of resident evil 0 and that is all (IMO)I mean seeing how konami basicly in so many words said nintendo is for kids when they talk about a MGS coming to gamecube. I mean nintendo has been able to rely on it\'s first party games which sales the most anyways...so I don\'t think nintendo is the type of company that need big 3rd party franchieses to sell it\'s system like sony and microsoft.

I agree in part. Nintendo does not need massive third party support to be succesful this generation. They have enough franchises and their own demographic, so that third party support is really just a bonus. TGS will be the display for those third party developers though. I doubt we see any huge announcements, but there is always the possible chance for Konami to slip something out like a new CastleVania or anything else. Ya\' never know, they may have some big announcements. I doubt it though.

IMO they do need massive 3rd party support to beat sony and M$ this generation.  You guys are right they will do okay alone, but not become the leader of this generation.  I say nintendo needs more 3rd party support.:thepimp:

I don\'t think Nintendo cares about beatin Sony and MS. They are more concerned about staying profitable, which they have been able to do every generation. Every decision that they make makes this more and more clear.

It was expected that Konami would pass up on Spaceworld (which is basically a Nintendo-only show). TGS is where Konami and a TON of other third-parties will anounce all their games (like Konami\'s FMV-quality space shooter...oops, did I say that?). Just wait till you see.......I better stop.

Nintendo beat Sony or MS? They don\'t need to. They are not trying to. They own the hand held market and they have their own target audience to keep them afloat . So, why bother tryin\' to beat the others? No other company is targeting the younger auidence, so Nintendo will continue to do it and continue to be succesful. Because, while we may like to think games have grown up  (which they have), there will always be a younger audience to buy \'em  , well their parents buy \'em.  Nintendo owns this audience and they don\'t need third party support to stay succesful in the business.

Have you seen the PSX\'s line-up lately? They did a complete 180 as far as mature games go.

There is nothing wrong with these so called "kiddy" games. For the most part they have always been fun and served their purpose - which is their target auidence enjoys \'em and buys \'em.

People keep making comments about Nintendo having kiddy games. Well, this industry is not just for mature gamers. We may sometimes like to think that it is, but it isn\'t. Therefor, the industry needs and will continue to have a company that caters to the younger audience or people who prefer less violent games. It is no different than Disney with its cartoons / family movies. So, can we please drop the kiddy issue? Nintendo is simply a family oriented company . There is nothing wrong with that and every industry has a family oriented company.
