Title: Soccer(football in the UK) Season starts Sunday.
Post by: Bladez on August 15, 2001, 03:49:46 PM
Well I got the call from my coach today.  Said things were going fast and my first soccer(football)game this Sunday.  I\'ve got practice tomorrow.  Oh this is bad.   This means I won\'t be on the forums as much and with next week being school I won\'t be on here as much as I\'ve been.

I like watching European Football because the fans are so into it and the stands are jammed pack and the noise has to be great.

Yup, me neither. Thank God they\'re showing the match on TV this Saturday (live too!). Bit disapointed Calamity James got injured since I was hoping he could help us out a bit with one of his vintage performances ;)

Even though I am from the USA I like Liverpool, Ajax, Spain, and Montreal.  I like Liverpool because they\'ve got good speed and defending.  Ajax because they have the speed.  Spain I like because they have okay defending and their old goalie(can\'t remember his name) was okay.  Montreal because of their formation and passing skills.  I am sure they\'re are others.  The Men\'s US International team uhh well sux.  The Women\'s US International team is better.

Yup, long time no see.

Unfortunately, I didn\'t get into med school this year :crying:, but I can try again next year and I\'m going back to Uni in September to finish my Cell and Molec. degree.

What do you think about the whole Robbie situation with him being dropped for the Charity Shield (ha! 2-1, that that you mancs!) because he apparently got into a fight with Phil Thompson and didn\'t appologise?

Do you think he will leave? Do you think he should go?

It would be Liverpool.  I play mostly D or mid fielder.  I kind of like Steven Gerrard but I also like Michael Owen.

sorry to  hear that lavan...dont worry ull get in next year.

i hope robbie doesnt leave......i dont really know what happend, i mean y he was dropped, he could of be unfit, not trying hard in training, the other forwards playing better etc. i think hell calm down, but if he isnt even on the bench he will start to get pissed.
he just needs to get his head down and train hard and hell get his chance...the teams not like it was b4, theres so many good players now, and sometime u dont get to play

I prefer The Spanish League over the Premiership simply because I get sick of seeing Man U winning the league every bloody season. It\'s been Man U # 1 Arsenal # 2.  I mean come on Arsenal.

Then last year they lose the UEFA Cup to Galatasaray!?! My fav teams are Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter and Arsenal.

Last year the UEFA Cup was won by Liverpool over Alaves.

Real AND Barca eh? LOL

I agree that La Liga is more exciting than the EPL but not because of who wins - I think the play in La Liga is more open and more about attack than most other leagues. However, this years\' EPL season will be one of the best ever with Arsenal, Liverpool, Leeds, United and Chelsea all serious contenders for the title.

i prefer the premiship, la liga is good, but its a bit like the scottish league, as in the fight for the title is usually between barca and real.

the last 2 years man utd have won by a lot, but now teams arent as scared of the team(after they won the treble teams had lost b4 they started as they didnt think they can win), now teams thnk they can, at the end of the season they were beaten by some poor teams, and especially in europe they showed ther not as good as they were. i dunno scholes up front just doesnt seem like its gonna work to me

you cant support real and barca

i had my first game today, hadnt played in about a year... i loved it so much, i was only expecting 15-30 mins, but i played 90 mins. first half after about 30 mins i felt like i was gonna puke, i was very thirsty. second half i felt fine, must of been those oranges i ate at half time. well we drew 2-2 but we played with only 9 men, they had 11, our goalie isnt our norm goalie... and ive only just joined and some new players were there and we had never played together b4, as alot of the team were still on holiday.....i was plaleyd out of pos toooooo, but it was fine...couldnt wear my boots as the ground was to hard, so had to wear my trainers

2-2 with 9 men and new players is as good as a win, well done mate! What position do you play?

Liverpool 2 West Ham 1 - we played crap but St. Michael carried us today - what a wonderful second goal! The atmosphere at Anfield was HORRIBE - it was almost as quiet as Old Trafford!

What\'s up with that?

i like to play centre back, or right back, but once ive got back my confidence in playing/ got used to the team ill try to play in mid....but i can play almost anywhere once i got the confidence in me....sometimes i get in the mood to play in a pos, like a forward, and can score loads other times ill play there when i dont wanna and ill miss every shot.

wooooo hooooooooo micheal owen

ahhhh hope robbie doesnt go, there was some stuff in the paper about it..apparently they were practising pens, thompson was fixing the net, robbie shot, nowhere near him, and thommo went mad saying robbie tried to hit him, also sai hes been at the club to long or something....i hope he doesnt go......but robbies really hurt by what e said and they said hes not happy at how they are saying its all his fault etc

Hope Robbie doesn\'t leave because he\'s one of their best kickers.(IMO)

P.S. we lost today 3-0.(https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fmysmilies.com%2Fsmilies%2Fcwm27.gif&hash=9e65ee026e92f4e849fa82a88838aff9eeedd2ba)  But they also had 5 players that were in a select team and I think one of their players was a little uh well (https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fmysmilies.com%2Fsmilies%2Fcwm32.gif&hash=5e0a71122e725b64af719194b80868beef387cec) just like your location.
