Title: Fire Detectors
Post by: Tetrad on August 18, 2001, 07:54:54 PM
Why in the world do they just make a little beep noise every five minutes when they are out of batteries? I have spent the last hour trying to hunt the damn thing down. I\'m upstairs and I think it\'s coming from downstairs, I\'m downstairs and I think it\'s coming from upstairs. They should have some really bright multiple color light show. How the hell am I supposed to fall asleep? Where the hell is it?

I hate those fire detectors when their low on batteries:mad:It sounds like a freaking cricket. I can\'t sleep when the thing is next to my room. The only time I want to hear it is if my house is on fire. Whats even worse is that if I don\'t have a 9V battery to put in it and I can\'t get one.

my only solution is to grab a bat and smash the damn thing...but i fear that the beep will become elongated which is worse..sounds like a higher pitched flatline...trust me,  ive heard it before.....so watch out....

I woke up in the middle of the night cause i couldn\'t stand it anymore. I started disconnecting them untill it stoped. Now i need to buy a 9v battery. I hate batteries, will anyone like to tell me why we have AAA, AA, C, and D batteries if they are all 1.5v? It makes everything so complicated.

I know how you feel...;) I think besides beeping...they also blink a lot at. SO maybe when it\'s dark, you can look for the blinking lights. That\'s just how mine works though...

I was looking for blinking but they were all green. Mine have some serious design flaws.
