Title: Red Faction deal
Post by: markc111 on August 23, 2001, 05:33:33 PM
Well I just bought Red Faction off of ebay for $37. It said it was brand new and sealed. Sounds like a good deal to me, condisering the lowest price that I saw in stores in my area was like $52. I just hope that I don\'t get ripped off or anything.

The multiplayer mode was Red Faction\'s only weakness. The 1 player mode was its strong point.

One thing I gotta complain is the framerate. But I played the demo so it could be different. What does it run at?

The demo was horribly coppy, the real game has a solid 60fps i believe.

yes the game ran quite fast no problems. you never noticed a slow framerate.

I think you make a good deal. Tell us how everything ends. I hope you get it the way they describe it.

Yea I hope everything works out, I\'ve been waiting to get this game but never picked it up. I sent out the money order today so I should be getting it in like 4 days.

I h8 to talk out of [game] topic...but since this point is *part* of this thread, and since we are all family in here I just wanted to add that you can better assure a sense of security in your transactions on using Ebay by using Paypal or such similar escrow-based services for payment.  Still not 100%...but better than throwing money away.  I\'ve made a ton of Ebay transactions as a buyer...yet to sell (but I have a $h1tload of stuff around the house that\'s just begging to be owned by someone else   ).

Best Ebay purchase (and one that\'s garnered most conversation at work is a sweeeet logo-embroidered polo shirt!!!  Folks luv it!  When I happen to be wearing it while shopping for games, I\'m often asked by clerks if I work for Sony...  One day I\'m gonna say, "yes" and tell them that for quality assurance sake, I need to check out a couple of games from their shelves...and that I\'ll bring them back after I\'ve reviewed their gameplay for defects, etc. ;)

Anyway, back to Ebay in general...always check feedback on a seller...don\'t buy from someone with low quantity feedback (good or bad)...I know that sounds wrong (if they have good feedback)...but hey, you don\'t need to be the first guy to find out the seller\'s a turd!  Buy from high positive feedback seller...

Lastly...as I\'m planning to do...Ebay is a great place to SELL your games (I\'d believe) given the prices that I see "used in good/excellent condition" go for...much better than trade-in prices at EB, etc.

I know that Red Faction was designed to be a one player game (which it did very well) and maybe that\'s why the multiplayer has only a two player option. Despite the lack of four player, the multiplayer is still very good.

yeah. But it would be cool to play against people online. 8 man deathmatches. That would be awsome.

Well for the person I bought it from there\'s been 176 positive comments and 1 negative comment in the past 6 months. Thats a huge relief, I forgot to check out that stuff. Thanks for all the help guys, I don\'t buy from ebay much.
