I just installed XP Evu. Version..
And I like it alot..
Ive been using Win98 ever sence it was released and never bothered to install 2000 or ME.. (Cuz I heard they were very buggy! 60 000 bugs or so?)
Well now I got hope for Windows.. Thanks to XP :)
EDIT: Btw. Does anyone know how to turn off the free4 60days crap?
I installed something so its free for 180days now..
Thanks

I think I\'ll pass on XP... I have Win98 now, but if I wanted to upgrade it would be to Win2K.

Why is that?
I tried Y2K and its buggy as hell.. (I had alot of problems.)
I havent had one singe plob. with XP yet. :)
It even installed my graphics-card on its own.
(GPU, Mouse, Keyboard, printer, DVD-rom ect.)
Pretty handy :)

Well, I could list a lot of problems with XP. One of the biggest IMO is the fact that you can\'t update your PC (change motherboard, CPU, graphics card, hd etc.) and count on XP working. You\'ll have to contact Microsoft (!) because XP has some sort of annoying copy protection technology. No thanks.

I didnt know that :(
But there is no chance in hell Ill update this old comp.. (3years old)
I\'d rather buy a new one..
And Im still sticking with XP..
Cuz I cant take another blue-screen :)

I\'ve been using XP RC.1 for almost a month now, and somethings are nice but nothing really dramiatic.
The Silver theme, with the titlebars scaled down to 20, looks OK.
I\'ve hit some problems, the computer has slowed down dramatically, the simplest of task takes forever to complete.
I\'m trying to get my hands on RC.2, to see how that one is.
But, I might just go back to good\'ol Win2k, if XP doesn\'t really do anything for me.

I\'m a dual-boot Win98/Win2k user here. 98 for games and 2k for everything else. I have also heard about that annoying copy protection for XP that deals with hardware and software so that has turned me off. Unless I hear great reviews of it performance-wise, I\'ll replace it over 98 & keep 2k.
I\'ve had no problems in Win2k over the past 1 year.

Yeah, and that\'s the funny part... It\'s actually like 30% slower than Win2k. It\'s just like every \'upgrade\' to MS Office - it gets more and more bloated, and slower and slower. 98/2k should suit my needs fine for quite a while to come. So don\'t feel bad about sticking to 98/2k. :)

I used build 2325 I think it was (when it was still Whistler, ) and aside from very few programs not working right, it ran like a charm. Right now I\'m using XP RC2. And surprisingly it runs even better than the older build I was using. Nothing I have installed so far has given me any problems, and it doesn\'t run slow @ all. Guys, if you don\'t like the fruity look of XP, or the extra resources the new effects take up, you can turn everything off and make it look like regular \'ole 2k. You know that right?

I\'m running Win2K.
It\'s never crashed on me once, had it up 24 hours a day for over a week without rebooting. Best microcrap OS i\'ve ever used at least.
I\'m getting XP as soon as i can though.

Well.. Ive been using XP for 12hours now..
Ive not had one single problem :)
Well.. Quicktime installer froze the first time. (Worked the 2nd)
But aside from that.. Its a-okay! :alien:
Now I could never go back to Win98..
Its to damn ugly..
Btw.. I dont know whats wrong with your copy no-one..
My computer runs 200% faster.. :)
Its true..
In Win98 it took 4eva just to open WMP7.1, now it takes a second or two. (I have a P2, 400Mhz, 128mb btw.. so no monster computer here!)
And it runs even better on my brothers 800Mhz AMD..
He had major problems with Win ME..
This is the best thing that ever happend to Windows.. (IMHO!)
:fro:
EDIT: I got version 2535..
Does anyone know how to make the countdown thingy stop??
Its making me nervous.. ;)
Not really.. But I want to turn it off anyways.. :D

Ive got Me and I happy with it. Ther r SOME MINOR bugs but it is still fast.

Yeah, but it still includes the copy protection thingy (in the final version at least). And I seem to remember that you have to pay for a monthly subscription?? Perhaps they skipped that idea - I sure hope so.
