I\'m guessing you meant replay instead of reply. The best way to get your PS2 footage to your computer is to run the A/V cables directly to iyour PC via a capture card. The best bang for your buck is the Pinnacle Studio DC10 Plus that can be found for $80 online. It\'s basically a PCI card you put into your computer that comes with a BOB (break-out box) that has A/V inputs, even an S-video input. You just play your PS2 and hit record on your PC.
The good thing with these cards is, you can capture any type of video you want, edit it on the PC digitally using all these fancy techniques, and output it again to your VCR for recording. Making home movies gets to be fun once you know what you\'re doing. I\'ve been using $1000+ Panasonic Pro-grade S-VHS decks in the past for editing and it simply can\'t compare to the current setup on my computer, or just about any cap card-equipped computer for that matter.
Beware: DV editing gets really addictive. You\'ll get into Premiere, codecs, filters, and a whole bunch of other junk. I\'m actually gonna be upgrading to a $250 cap card this week for this project my church wants me to do, and this cap card is still considered a beginner\'s card. :surprised:

hi
i forgot to mention that i have Pinnacle Studio DC10 but it only has firewire ports (plus package includes the S-Vid and A/V)
i also live in the uk
Would a Voodoo 33000 AGP TV Out do?
wot about this,
if i connect my PS2 to my VCR, then my VCR to My DV Cam, them My DV Cam to my Pc
i know there is a way with these firewire ports but its just finding it.
thanx THX and i know wot u mean by editing, u do get addictive

hehehehe. That\'s a lot of connections. In the US, the Pinnacle Studio DV has the firewire ports & the DC10 Plus has composite and S-video. I don\'t know how it is in the UK. Maybe see if you can find that extra plus kit for your card on ebay or something. Or just buy the upgrade (if you can?) from Pinnacle.
If you want to buy a whole new AGP all in one type card, that Voodoo is OK, but I say seperates are the way to go. I have a Matrox Marvel G400 on one of our machines and while it does have its benefits, I look at the PCI cards for capping and see a world of difference. Tom\'s Hardware (http://www6.tomshardware.com/video/99q4/991118/index.html) did an awesome review of the AIO cards and the Matrox was rated the best (the Voodoo 3500TV was in the review too). This was back a couple of years ago though where these type of boards where getting popular. Now all the powerhouse graphics cards seem to just provide 3d acceleration and maybe a few other minor things. Vid capping is now getting more restricted to a seperate card, which is the better solution.
But if you want to save your hard-earned cash then fool around with what you have, maybe there is a way. Does your MiniDV cam have A/V inputs? I know my MiniDV cam has A/V outputs and a firewire port like yours, but only the Firewire port will allow me to record something, not the analog A/V outputs. Recording an analog source like the PS2 would be impossible via line level inputs on most (if not all) MiniDV cams. That\'s just the way they are made.
Doesn\'t the PS2 have a firewire port? Why not try hooking that bad boy to your cam and see what happens, or even straight to the computer? It\'s worth a shot. :)
